Reyna
"Please don't ruin the punching bag" was the first thing I said once I wheeled myself in the gym, "I'm sure the owners getting annoyed with you for ruining them
Steve whirled around till he spotted me. A small relieved smile broke across his face once he spotted me. A non-wavering smile, even though he noticed the missing leg. "What are you doing here?"
I wanted to cry, right here, right now, but it will only make me weak. "To say goodbye. I'm leaving S.H.I.E.L.D." The blunt truth. Better than beating around the bush.
He was taken aback for a second the he opened his mouth to say something but I cut him off. "I talked with Fury and he agreed with my decision. He asked to make me a prosthetic leg, but I declined because fighting won't be the same and I would only be dead weight."
"Where are you going to stay?" he asked a bit red-faced, "so I could, maybe, visit, from time to time..."
I smiled. "I would be staying in California for a year or so. Then, I'll move out to live with my older sister in Seattle."
Steve nodded a bit crestfallen, but understanding. He moved closer to me and knelt so he would be at my eye-level. He leaned slightly but I grabbed the front of his sweaty T-shirt and crashed my lips to his.
I have to admit, he's not the best kisser. But who am I to judge since this is my first kiss? Something stirred inside me but I dismissed it quickly.
We broke up with each of us panting heavily.
"What was that?" he asked a bit breathlessly.
"A goodbye kiss," I said sadly. "Whether you or I like it or not, our relationship can't work now. We'll both be on our ways. Maybe we'll never see each other again after this. It's better that way."
I wheeled myself backwards, but instead of letting me go by myself, he took hold of the chair and helped me get out of the gym in silence until we met Percy who was waiting for me. She took hold of the wheelchair after she gave Steve a respectful nod.
Percy looked terrible. I voiced my thoughts to her, but she only shrugged in response. "Couldn't sleep at night" she said curtly not taking her eyes off the road as she drove away.
"Percy..."
"Reyna..." she said matching the warning tone. She spared me a glance and sighed once she saw my frown. "We're demigods, Reyna. Dreams and nightmares are just... side-effects... for being children of the gods. And it's not like you didn't have those."
I remained silent until she handed me a basket. At my face, she chuckled and said:
"Shawarma. Clint insisted I try it. He thought it was originally invented in Greece until I told him it was Turkish or something. A Levantine cuisine, I think. Anyway, I brought you some."
"How did you know about Levantine cuisine?" I asked amused.
"I do sometimes my research about things I found interesting" She send defensively, but the corner of her lips twitched upwards.
"Why food?"
"Who doesn't like food?"

Percy
After Reyna was gone to Camp Jupiter I vapor traveled to my apartment and cuddled with my pillow on my bed. Reyna told me about how she would get a prosthetic limb at the Roman camp. I was happy for her, but guilt was gnawing inside me.
Suddenly, flashes of Tartarus and the three wars attacked my mind and I began hyperventilating. I began to hum whatever song was on my mind trying or hoping to ward off the images. At first, it worked a bit, the force lessened but it was only for a moment because the Fates obviously don't want me to be okay for the flashbacks came back in full force making hum louder while clutching my head. I got up and marched around like a madwoman not noticing where I was going. I tried to control my breathing but the gruesome images unabled me to concentrate properly. I gave a silent scream because suddenly the metallic taste of blood was in my mouth and I didn't know how it got here. I later found out that I bit the insides of my mouth so hard, blood was drawn. I hit the wall with my back, and slowly slid down on the cold hard floor humming a song that sounded familiar. I didn't notice someone was in the apartment until I felt two arms encircle around in my shoulders and draw me into a hug, my head was instantly buried in the person's shoulder, he smelled of leather. Nick.
The floodgate was suddenly opened and I began to cry. Nick rocked me back and forth and then sang the song that I was humming.
The song that my mother, when she was alive, used to sing it for me before I go to sleep.
"Sing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I'm tired and I
I want to go to bedSing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
And then leave me alone
Don't try to wake me in the morning
'Cause I will be gone
Don't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I will feel so glad to goSing me to sleep
Sing me to sleep
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymoreSing to me
Sing to me
I don't want to wake up
On my own anymoreDon't feel bad for me
I want you to know
Deep in the cell of my heart
I really want to goThere is another world
There is a better world
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well, there must be
Well...Bye bye
Bye bye
Bye... "
About the middle, the flashbacks subsided and I sang with him the rest of the song. When we finished, I simply cried.
Tell me what you think...
