Part 4

"So we're out there bustin' ourselves to catch the bad guys and you just stay back to betray us?!" Asked LX quite too loud.

"Betray you?! Man, stop being so dramatic", responded Cole .

"You know I love here don't you? I loved Annie since the first time I saw her, and you go and kiss her like that?"

"Who says I don't love her either?" Cole asked, "And maybe she's the one who kissed me."

Even Sol looked at me with hurt eyes for that one. I just looked away with shame.

"It didn't exactly look like you tried to even reject her," added LX.

"I didn't want to for a matter of fact," said Cole, "I enjoyed kissing Annie more than anything in the world." Alright, now Cole was just teasing LX.

"You son of a bitch!" LX yelled. He came forward and punched Cole across the face.

"Stop it!" I shrieked. Cole took a deep breath and stood back. LX huffed, with his fists clenched. I went to stand between them. "LX, please! I'm not going to like you any better if you start beating up Cole!"

I tried desperately to calm LX down until I heard Cole grunt and turned to see Sol knock Cole to the ground.

"Solomon!" I cried, using his full name. He was certainly not the aggressive type.

Sol turned around and smirked. That gave Cole enough time to grab Sol's foot and pull it out from under him. Sol fell on his back desperately breathing because the wind got full blown knocked out of him. Now Cole had his chance and he jumped on top of Sol. Then he began to bash at Sol's face.

"Cole?! Are you stupid? Get off of your best friend!"

"Ha!" He chuckled, "Some friend."

In the middle of it all, LX also jumped in and now they were rolling and throwing punches that could knock teeth out. Swear words were exchanged and I was balling my eyes out.

"That's enough guys!" I began to move in to break them up. "Common, stop it..." I mumbled trying to separate LX's hand from Cole's throat. They wouldn't stop, and kept hurting each other. That is until one of the boys got me. Just like that a hand smacked straight in my eye.

"FFFFFFFFF!!" I cried trying really hard not to swear. "DDDDD!!!"

"Annie!" They all called, coming to my side.

"All of you get away from me!" I screamed.

"Annie?" LX stared in pain.

"Don't you dare touch me!" I growled.

"Oh man, she's going to get a black eye..." Said Sol

"Yea," I cry, "Because you had to be stupid!" Pressure was building up in me and I know I didn't mean it but it still came out. "I HATE YOU GUYS!"

LX, Sol, and Cole stared at me in silence. Tear drops fell from their eyes and they completely turned red. "I.. Uhh..." Sol broke off trying not to lose his cool.

"You..huh..huh what?!" I cried "You just had to go and hurt your best friend too didn't you Sol? How did it feel causing pain to the guy that stood by you through everything?"

"LX you started it too! I'm the one who kissed Cole and you know what, I regret it."

The guys all stared down in shame.

"Now all of you out! I have cops to call about a house robbing."

~**************~

"So Miss Keesh, what seems to be the problem?" asked the officer.

"Umm.... Isn't it obvious," I turned around pointing at out living room. "We've been robbed."

"Mhhhmmm.... And do you know who might have done this?"

"All I know is one of the guys names was Jimmy. I respond"

"Mind if we take a look around?" He asked.

"Please do, that's what I called 911 for in the first place."

"Alright" said the guy and began to walk around with his partner.

"Hey what's this wire doing twisted on this closet knob?" asked the partner suddenly.

"I don't know..." I said shocked that anything would be left behind.

The officer slowly began to twist the knob, then the door creaked open. He gave a worried look and that's all he had time for before something in there exploded.

The guy lay on the ground in pain, rolling as he tried to distinguish the fire on his face. The other guy was calling in for help. And I was just about to throw up right then and there.

"Ma'am can you please exit the house, this is dangerous." Asked the cop.

"I'm going, no need to say more." I answered and walked over to under our tree house. Within the next 5 minutes I watched fire trucks, ambulance, cops with dogs, and my parents arrive. Dad fell to his knees when he saw his house, half burned.

"So what happened here." came a voice from behind me. I turned around to see a girl as she walked up to me.

"Do I know you?" I asked.

"Well, you should."

"Huh?" I said looking her up and down. "But I have never seen you in my life"

"I know" she said. "Anyways," she continued, "I was going to come ask you something, but now I see it's a bad time."

"You could say that," I laughed looking at my house. "You know, I'm thinking that my life is going to change."

"It just might" answered the girl.

"umm... I'm sorry but I don't know your name."

"Lucy" she answered.

"Are you new to the area Lucy?"

"Kind of..." she said scratching her head.

"Kind of? You are strange girl." I responded.

"Not surprising" she smiled, "But we can be friends right?"

"Ummm... Still, I don't know you. Haha! But no one has ever asked me to be their friend like that before; all strait forward. I like that."

"See, there's one thing you know about me now!" She smiled. "But you will get to know me better soon, don't you worry."

"I'm actually looking forward to it," I laughed.

She smiled back. "Hey, is that your mom?" she asked as she pointed at mom walking towards us."

" Yes" I shrugged.

"Okay well, I have to go then," she said.

"But, wait" I said as I turned toward her. She wasn't there anymore.

"Hey honey!" called mom " Are you hurt?"

I turned around to tell her no but she gasped when I looked at her.

"What?"

"Your eyebrows must have gotten burned off from the explosion!"
