Adelrik's p.o.v

My head was throbbing because of all the booze I had mindlessly consumed last night. I had so many meetings conjured up today in my schedule and I couldn't slack off. I needed my cup of coffee.

"Roger head up to La'amour"
"Yes sir."

I sighed and leaned back into the plush italian leather. It had been a long time since I had met up with Mrs. John. She was the only person to whom I confided in. She was the one who brought back my sanity and stopped me from going down the path of self destruction.

Earliar I was quite regular to our 'coffee dates' as she calls it but now due to the workload I hardly get time to visit her. But still I do manage to show up my face at least once a week. Not to forget her coffee is my medicine.

"Sir we're here"

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Roger pulled up in front of the cafe. This place always managed to knock me up no matter how many times I came here. It wasn't because of the appearance but because of the memories it held. This place had been mine and Charlotte's safe haven. We always met up here to do our work and complete our assignments. She never knewbut I used to love watching her. I loved the way her eyes used to twinkle when she smiled. When her whole face would crease up when she was confused. How she used to gaze at me shyly when she thought I wasn't looking at her.
My girl was beautifully perfect. Just the thought of her smile made my heart throb in a dull pain.

The smell of coffee along with the sweet fragrance of Mrs. John's donuts greeted me as soon as I opened the doorsof the cafe. The bell chimed as I entered and Mrs. John looked at me with surprise. This surprised me as well because Mrs. J never gave me that look. She always greeted me with a bright smile and warm hugs. But there was one more thing that felt different today. Like some familiar force. I decided to ignore it because my mind was still recovering from a hangover and I might've imagined things. So I proceeded to join the line and when I did it hit me strongly with great force.
This fragrance.
The brunette standing before me had wavy long hair of the same colour which haunted my dreamsand the fragrance of coconut and cocoa was overwhelming. It was such a familiar scent. Something about this girl was compelling me to turn her around and smell her sweet scent but I decided against it. My mind was playing tricks on me again, making me feel things that had been long repressed but I pushed it down. So instead I politely asked "Excuse me Miss, if you haven't decided yet then can I please order?" which surprised me because I was never polite to any stranger. I simply stated things.
At this I felt the girl in front of me freeze for a good ten seconds and just when I was about to ask her what the matter was she abruptly left and went into the direction of the restroom.
Well that was weird. I ignored this ackward feeling and moved ahead and realized that all this while Mrs. Johnhad been watching me with a strange expressionson her face.

"Mrs. John are you alright? You seem a little pale" I shook her while she looked at me as if she had seen a ghost. Why was everyone acting so weird today. First my dad and then Mrs. John.

"Huh! Um... I'm so sorry Rikki. Its been so long since I've seen you. Now come on give this old lady a hug."

She smiled warmly and embraced me whivh automatically soothed me down.

"Mrs. John you alright? You seemed a little pale a while back."

Oh son don't worry about that. You know how this oldage can get right. I was just thinking about something." She gave a nervous smile.
"If you say so."

"So what shall I get for you Rik? The usual!"
"Yeah the same old order Mrs. J" I replied.

I waited for a few minutesand sge brought over my order along with her famous chicken sandwitch.
"I know you haven't had your breakfast so you better eat this up or you'll get sick. Understood?"
