Adelrik's Pov

Today I had to pick up my angel for the dress fitting. I wanted nothing more than to look at her while she wore her wedding gown, no matter the price I knew that Charlotte would look beautiful in anything. But unfortunately I had heard somewhere that it was bad omen for the groom to look at the bride in her wedding gown beforehand.

I went to her house to pick her up and when I got out of the car I felt her stare even before I saw her. I looked up and saw her looking from her bedroom window. This brought a smile on my face and she hid herself with a curtain.

When I went inside the first one to grace my presence was the devil herself
Nicole.
Its not like I had something against her but out of the two of them she was the more savage and feisty one. She was never the one to keep her opinions to herself and was straightforward to an offensive level and right now I wasn't in her faviourite people's list, so naturally I was expecting her hostility. But for the sake of Charlotte I tried to be the bigger person but Nicole just nodded at me coldly and went away. I knew I was wrong here but that didn't mean I did not want to put her in her place.
Moreover she was Luke's woman and My angel's best friend, so I let it go. I asked Charlotte to follow me and when she saw my car she was mesmerised. If my girl liked it then it was hers, but I couldn't give this car to her right now because she would reject it outright. After getting married this would be hers. We sat in the car when I noticed that she wasn't wearing her seat belt and had a frown on her face. I moved forward to buckle her up and her fragrance hit me with full force. I wanted to devour her and kiss her long slender neck. She smelled of coconut amd cocoa. She smelt so innocent unlike the other woman who bathed in perfume. Her innocent fragrance had my pants tightening, I don't know how I would make it through the whole ride while being in such close proximity as her.
As I moved closer her breath was uneven and her chest was rapidly falling up and down and that was the sexiest thing I had seen, but I had to get a grip on myself or I would do something I would surely regret. I tightemed her seatbelt and moved back but something told me she was disappointed. Well that was a beginning.

After 20 minutes we reached the boutique and she asked me to pick her up at 4. I agreed and turned my car when I saw that she had entered the boutique.

I reached my office and was greeted by a very unplesant site. Luke and Matt were lounging in my office as if it belonged to them with no care in the world. Luke was spinning himself on my chair and Matthew was was spread on the couch while talking to someone on the phone. Must be one of her bimbos.
I cleared my throat to get their attention and as soon as Matt saw me he jumped on me like a freaking pet dog "You bastard, you didn't even have the guts to tell us you were getting married to Charlotte Kingston. We had to find  it from Nicole and do you know how hurtful that was. Our best friend is not ready to share shit with us" Matt shouted at me. This was his daily daily drama and till now I was used to it.
"Are you done man?"
"Oh shut up Rik its been ages since I've seen you and this is how you greet me." Luke came forward and hugged me and it felt comfortable. After completing school Matthew had decided he would stick with me in LA but Luke decided to go to NYU to look after Charlotte and to be near his girlfriend Nic. I always knew where Charlotte was and I trusted Luke that he would never let any harm come to her. The only thing that kept me sane these years was the thought of her being protected. The thought of her away from my shit. I also knew that Charlotte had made Luke promise not to tell me about her but little did she know that I always knew where she was and how she was. It was painful to stay away from her but it was necessary. But now everything would be alright. I would make it alright.
"Sooo you're marrying Char. You know she hates you right buddy." Matthew asked as we sat down. "Yeah I know. But she won't hate me for long. I'll make her mine again and correct the mistake I made years ago. And this time no one will stop us."
Matthew just looked at me for a few seconds and nodded. This meant I had his approval.

"Have you told her about them and does she know about Noah?"

I froze as soon as I heard his name. "No I haven't and she doesn't need to know about him." I stated coldly.
"B-but how can you expect her to forgive you if you don't open up to her. I have been hiding your secret for too long and I won't anymore. Tell her what happened that night. You can't just leave her in the dark. She doesn't deserve it." Luke said.

"SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT THAT NIGHT. ITS DONE AND ITS OVER. SO DON'T YOU DARE BRING THIS UP AGAIN." I screamed at him and stood up as I looked outside. It wasn't his fault. He wasn't wrong but it was just the triggering point for me.

"Why don't you want her to know?" Matthew asked.

"Because I'll ruin her."

Luke patted my shoulder and gave me a glass of whiskey which I gulped in one sip.

"Anyways guys just leave this topic and lets go party somewhere. Now that you two dicks are out of business that means that I'm the only pussy slayer left here. Doesn't matter, it just means I'll have more to myself." Matthew laughed as he sipped his drink and we joined him. Count Matthew in where ever there were girls and booze. He had always been the more carefree and outgoing one amongst us.
Suddenly my phone buzzed with a message and it was an unknown number. I opened the message and it was a picture of Charlotte walking down the street. She was dressed in the same clothes she wore today. It meant the picture was clicked today. All colour drained from my face as I realized the time was already 4:10. I hadn't realised the time and I had promised to pick her up at 4 from the boutique. Without any delay I abruptly picked up my keys and ran downstairs all the while Matthew and Luke shouted behind me. I sat in the car and turned the ignitionamd  and sped towards the boutique. Someone was following her which meant she wasn't safe anymore. All of this was because of me. Whatever came near me always became vulnerable to danger. I couldn't repeat the same mistake twice
My heart was ringing in my ears as I prayed all the way for her safety.  As soon as I moved two streets ahead the boutique I saw Charlotte. Firstly I thanked all the stars that she was safe. I blew the horn which scared her. But as soon as she saw me she came running and quickly sat down.I noticed that she was pissed.
"I'm sorr-"

"Save it. Now lets just go the bakery and get over with this cake tasting."
At this I just clenched my fist and counted till 10 in my mind. I couldn't let my anger overpower me now. And as it is it was my fault for not being punctual. I quickly typed a message to Matthew telling him everything was alright and started the car.

I poured myself a glass of Mcallan' 18 as I sat down on the bed. Today had been an exhausting day but aslong as I got time to spend with her everything was bearable
But what was eating me up from the inside were that message. Who had sent it and why? There sure was an ulterior motive and I had to reach to its roots before it ripped me out. Charlotte wasn't safe alone anymore. I had to arrange for her security without her knowing because she would never agree with me if I asked her. I sent an email to Dexter, my body gaurd regarding her security details and laid down.

I laid there but sleep didn't come. I picked up my phone and saw the time. It was 10. I dialed the number.
"Hey Adelrik. You're calling after so long."

"I know Lisa I'm sorry. I just got busy and couldn't find time. Is he awake?"

"I know your schedule and its alright and lucky for you he is awake today. But just a phone call won't do. You have to come visit him this week. Now talk to him. NOAH COME HERE, ITS DADDY ON THE PHONE"

"Yeah Lisa I will. Its been so long since I've seen you both."

"Hey daddy. I missed you so much."

"I missed you too son. How have you been?"
