Chapter Four

Victoria's POV

I wake up to unfamiliar surroundings then remember the events from last night and where I am. I see my phone on the desk and check the time it's 9:27.
"Your up." Ethan says coming through from the kitchen.
"Yeah, thanks again for letting me stay."
"It's no problem, you got a hangover from last night?" He asks standing in the doorway.
"Nope I feel fine actually."
"Good, do you want any breakfast I'm about to make something for myself?" He asks.
"No, I'm treating you to breakfast, as a thank you for letting me stay."
"Oh, are you sure"
"Yep, go and get ready. Oh but you'll have to drop me off home first I have no clothes."
"Okay, I'll drop you off, you can have a shower and get dressed and I'll pick you up at 11. Sound like a plan?"
"Perfect."

I arrive home, get a shower, dry and straighten my hair then get changed into some jeans and a nice top. Ethan picks me up and we have breakfast.
"Are you sure about paying?" He asks me willing to give me half.
"No, this is my thank you therefore I'm paying."
"If your sure."
"Positive."
"I'll drop you off." I pay for the bill and get into the car and he drops me off.
"See you tomorrow at work."
"Cya." I say waving then going into my house.

After cleaning up all the rubbish and clothes I left before Cal and Alicia's party I began to feel dizzy and sick. It must have been from the breakfast this morning, given me food poisoning or something, so I decided to have a little nap on the couch and seen if I felt any better afterwards.

Ethan's POV

After 20 minutes, I realise that Vic has left her coat in my car, I'm half way home and I debate to myself whether to take it to her now or give it to her tomorrow at work. I then decide to turn around and give it to her now, it's an excuse to see her again.

When I arrive at her house again, I walk up the steps and get ready to knock on the door when I realise it's open. "Vic?" I shout opening the door further. "Victoria?" I say again walking into the house. I then walk into the living room and see her asleep on the couch. I go over to the chair and leave her coat on it and as I go to text her about how she left her coat I see the gas has been left on.

I run to it and knock if off and run to Vic who now seems lifeless on the couch. "Vic!, Victoria wake up please." I say shaking her. It was no use so I pick her up and carry her outside then phone an ambulance.
"Ambulance please, it's my.... erm friend, I found her lifeless on the couch and I seen that the gas was left on I think she has carbon monoxide poisoning. Okay please hurry." I say hanging up the phone then going back to Vic's side doing everything I can to help, which isn't much as I don't have the stuff to help her. "Please Vic, I cant lose you." I say holding her hand waiting for the ambulance.

10 minutes went by and then ambulance finally arrived. "It's one of our own Sam." Iain shouts when getting out the ambulance. "What's happened Ethan?" He says crouching down next to her.
"I found her in her house like this, but the gas was on, so I assumed carbon monoxide so I brought her out here. I know I shouldn't of moved her but I couldn't of left her in there."
"It's okay you did the right thing mate."

I then stood back as Iain and Sam done everything, they put her into the bed, I hopped into the ambulance and went with them to the hospital. "Right we're going to have to do blood samples to see how much carboxyhemoglobin is in her blood." Sam tells me. "If it's over 30% she will have inhaled quite a lot, do you know how long she was in there for?"
"Only around 20 minutes but the gas was quite high on the cooker."
"So it wasn't the boiler?" She asks confused.
"No, the gas was left on from the cooker."
"That means the amount of carbon monoxide in her shouldn't be higher than 30% but we do need to do tests just incase. She doesn't smoke does she?"
"No."
"Good, it will be easy to detect how much carboxyhemoglobin she's inhaled. All we can do for now is keep the oxygen mask on her."

We then arrive at the hospital and we enter and Eddie is the doctor who treats her, which I get annoyed at because I think he likes her but as long as she is getting help I'm happy. Iain tells him her Bp and sats and everything that's happened and then they leave after putting her in Resus. "Don't worry, she's gonna be fine mate." Iain says leaving Eddie and Louise to it.

She then begins to awake "What's happened?" She says taking off the oxygen mask but Eddie puts it right back on. "It's okay I'm here." I say jumping to her side. She tries to take it off again "Listen Vic, you need to keep that on, you've inhaled a lot of carbon monoxide and you still need a lot of oxygen in you to make the carbon monoxide disappear." Eddie says. "It's a good sign you've woken up because that means most of it has gone but we need to do blood tests to make sure."
She nods and looks at me. I grab her hand "it's okay, your going to be okay. You gave me a fright, I thought I'd lost you." Eddie does the blood tests and then leaves to take them to testing.

She begins to take off the mask "you can't get rid of me that quickly." She says then puts the mask back on.
"No I can't." I say giving her hand a squeeze.
