An Ethan Hardy Story

Chapter Seven

Victoria's POV
It was the next day and I was completely shattered, I didn't sleep at all I kept waking up worrying and wondering who would try to kill me? It's not as if I have lots of enemies, I can't even think of one enemy I do have  so I was totally confused by what was happening.

I check my phone and see it's 9am so I decide to get up, I had a day off today but Ethan didn't. I got ready then headed downstairs where Ethan was getting ready for work.
"Morning." He says doing his hair in the mirror.
"Morning." I say less enthusiastic while dumping myself onto the couch.
"You okay, looks like you haven't slept a wink." He asks concerned.
"Oh thanks. That's because I haven't I couldn't sleep, I just kept thinking about who would want to do this to me." Ethan Joined me on the couch and began thinking. "What you thinking about?" I asked
"I'm thinking about who doesn't like you but there's literally no one. Your one of the most kindest and loving person I know everyone loves you so I have no idea who it could be."
"Awh, Ethan your so sweet." Ethan began to blush then my phone rang. I jumped then realised it was my phone and picked it up. "It's just a number so it's probably the police." I say answering it.

Ethan walks away getting the rest of his things ready for work while I talk to the police. "Hello." I say answering it.
"Hello It's DS Williams again. I was wondering if you were available today to come down to the station to give a statement?"
"What for? I wasn't in the house when it happened." I say confused.
"Yes but we want to list down everything that's been different or anyone who's acting differently towards you just so we can rule out people and get your version of events."
"Okay that's fine but I don't think I'll be much help."
"You coming down so we can rule out things will be very helpful in this investigation so thank you. Come down at 3 and we can get it done."
"Okay thank you bye." I hang up the phone and put my head in my hands beginning to become upset again.

Ethan comes back through and sees me stressing and comes over to comfort me "Hey Vic look at me." He says taking my hands away from my face. I look into his beautiful eyes and listen to what he's got to say "don't worry they'll find out who done this you don't have to worry I'll keep you safe."
"Thank you." He wipes away my tears and pulls me into a hug.
"Anytime you need Anything just ring me okay?"
"Okay. I have to go to the station to give a statement today."
"Well all you have to do is get that over with and you can stay here for the rest of the day and chill out okay." He says still hugging me tight. "Anyways I better be off to work." He says pulling away.
"Have fun." I say wiping away the rest of my tears.
"I'll try. Goodbye."
"Bye." Then within a second, he's gone.

Ethan's POV
I hate leaving her when she's like this but hopefully she's okay. I was worrying as much as her I just didn't want to show it because I know it'll make her worry even more. I arrive at work and straight away Cal knows something's up. No one knows that it was attempted murder and Vic didn't want anyone to know so I act casual.
"What's up Nibbles?" He says sitting beside me.
"Don't call me that." I just say bluntly and walk away cracking on with my job.

After a long 4 hours my break had finally arrived and I could go on my lunch but unfortunately for me so could Cal. I enter the staff room and no one was there so I quickly message Vic asking her if everything was okay when Cal scares me by saying "why wouldn't everything be okay?"
"Why you reading my messages?" I say locking my phone and putting it in my pocket.
"Right what's wrong?" He says sitting opposite me as if I'm being interviewed. "Trouble in paradise?" He asks
"No well kind of but not."
"So yes then. What have you done?"
"Nothing." I say sternly.
"Come on tell me, I'm the biggest screw up ever but I always know how to solve an argument between a girl so tell me and I can help."
"Fine okay but promise not to tell anyone she doesn't want anyone knowing." I say quietly.
"Okay I promise." Cal says intrigued.
"Right so you know Vics carbon monoxide poisoning?"
"Yeah?" He says slightly confused
"It wasn't an accident, Someone broke into her house and done it on purpose but she doesn't know who."
"Omg no way." He says shocked. "Who would do something like that? Especially to her literally everyone loves her."
"Exactly that's why I'm so confused with it all."
"Do you reckon it could be her ex-boyfriend?" Cal asks
"I'm not sure. She's never mentioned him I suppose I could try and bring him up and see what she says."
"Yeah good plan anyways I'll have to get back to work."
"Okay see you later."

I sit in silence hardly touching my lunch then get back to work wanting the day to end so I can go back to Vic.
