Stepping onto the cobblestoned porch of my home, I took my jacket off before unlocking the door and stepping into complete darkness. The odor of grilled steak and steamed vegetables invaded my nostrils and my mouth watered at the aroma.

Stepping further into the room, I found the light switch and proceeded to turn it on. Baffled, I sat next to the woman who was dressed in a leather pants and a bra to match. What caught my attention however, was the revolver placed on her lap.

"Are you going to a costume party of some sort?" Laughing softly and kissing to the side of her head while proceeding to lift my legs into her laps. "And what's with the gun?"

"Scar." Sydney said softly but very harsh.

"What's wrong love?"

"I'm giving you thirty seconds to explain yourself before I lose it and leave my son with one mother." Her head turned to me and her grey eyes bore virtual holes through my skin. Her voice was hoarse and her finger was strategically placed on the trigger of her gun. In that moment I knew I lost her and I also knew I fuxked up big time.

"Sydney I can explain."

"Good, that's exactly what I want."

"It was needed to be done."

"Explain to me how kissing a woman that I hate, was needed to be done." By now her lividity was vivid and I knew within the next minute or so she would've thrown a knife at me or worst, shoot me with the revolver.

"Sydney, Jinx had to put something on her car and I saw an opportunity to keep her there a little longer so I took it."

"That is the most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard." She got up from her seat and began walking towards the front door.

"Where are you going?"

"To put a bullet in her head." She deadpanned.

Jumping from my seat, I ran to her and grabbed her two hands. "Sydney, think about this. You know my heart beats for you only. I love you. I'm in love with you Sydney Pearson. No person in this world can ever change that or take me from you." Smiling ear to ear, I kissed the back of her hand and pulled her closer to me.

"I'm very sorry about that kiss. Something like that will never happen again. I promise."

Her face still held a deep scowl and she removed my hands from touching her. "You're not off the hook." She began walking away from me, where she placed the revolver on the table and walked upstairs.

Sighing loudly, I walked to the bar and poured a shot of bourbon. Taking a sip of the burning substance, I loosened my tie and hopped onto one of the barstools.

"Well this doesn't look good at all. Did Sydney die again?" Malik laughed while occupying the seat next to me.

"Sydney wants to kill me."

"She will never do that. She loves you too much but the question is why will you think that?"

"She saw me kissing Celene." I sighed loudly and downed the rest of the alcohol while simultaneously pouring another round.

"Are you out of your freaking mind? After everything you went through to be with Sydney and you jeopardize it by kissing some blonde bitvh, who might I add, tried to kill Sydney once."

"Might I add that it was not one of pleasure but one of business. Celene is trying to help me get Zhisuku." Taking another swig from the glass, I turned to him.

"What do you mean?"

"Well big bro, the sadist that you chose to be the mother of your child reported us to be the kidnappers of Mathew." His eyes glazed over in a look of confusion and then he opened his mouth slightly ajar but no words exited.

"Are you fucking serious right now?" He stood up and ran a hand through his hair while pacing the bar room.

"Im afraid so big brother. Which is why Celene and I are working together and Jinx and I are also working together to ensure that Celene isn't playing us."

"How are you going to do that?"

"Let's just say, our plan requires a lot of back stabbing." Laughing softly, I poured myself another drink.

"That's your third drink in five minutes. Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm peachy." Pointing my index finger to him, I laughed, "don't you worry."

"Okay." He said even though his eyes held worry, he knew better than to bring them up because I'll just shot it down.

"I think I want to be in on this plan." A devious smile was placed on his lips.

"Are you sure you want to watch your one night stand who happens to be the mother of your child, die?"

"Of course I do. I wish she died now."

"How will Mathew feel about that? Don't you think you should consult with your child before trying to kill his mother?" Another shot was poured into the glass while I spoke.

"Okay I saw what you did there and I'll talk to him. After all, it's still his mother and I'm quite sure he loves her."

"Look at us. Planning to kill someone just like old times." Smiling I pointed to him and shook my head.

With a laugh and a shake of his head he said, "yeah, just like old times."

"How does it feel to be a father?" I asked while drinking the remainder from my glass and poured another one.

"It feels liberating but scary. This is all new to me and Mathew is a handful." He laughed while I joined because I can attest to that. After a short while of getting to know Mathew, I can safely say he is an annoying pubescent but I love him either way and I'm glad that he found us.

"Scary is good. How you handle the scary part is the real task at hand. Learn everything about him that you can and remember, love is lovely." I smiled.

"Scar!" Sydney yelled out frantically while running down the staircase.

"What is it?" I asked while running to her.

"James is gone."
