The precinct was buzzing with chatter and quick movement of fingers on keypads. The entire precinct was occupied in searching for my son and I automatically felt bad knowing that this will never happen for another child. However at the moment I cared not about that, I cared about getting my son back.

The moment I realized my son was missing I felt like apart of me left and if that part don't return I don't think I'll ever truly cope from this.

Scar was doing everything she can at the moment to find out what she can and I knew this was killing her inside but she wanted to stay strong for me. I admired her for that. However, I felt as though she will do more harm in this state than good. Scar is a known hothead even when she is calm so imagine her in this moment of weakness.

Grabbing the files from my table, I opened them up again. I was currently looking at past complaints on other kidnapping cartels and tried to find clues as to why they will kidnap my son.

Of course Scar has a lot of enemies but none of those enemies truly know about Scar and I. Only members of the team knows about our relationship.

Opening the database on the laptop, I searched for any Smith that has turned to the life of a beggar. Of course those traces were next to none but I had to find it especially knowing that finding his identity can assist us in finding out who paid him to kidnap James.

Smith Rogers was the only name that showed up with a background of homelessness. He was a short man of Hispanic decent. He looked very young to be down this path but to each his own.

Taking a picture of the laptop screen, I sent it to Scar for her to tell me if that is the Smith we are looking for. She replied in less than a minute confirming that was the man who kidnapped James.

Entering his image in the facial recognition console, I picked up some activity from him in front of chi steal. This was one week ago. The woman's back was turned to the camera but all I saw was blonde and I knew exactly who was up to this.

Grabbing my phone, I called Scar and waited for her to answer. "Scar, I believe your lip locking partner was up to this. You better go to her before I do because then you will be bailing me out next Monday in court for murder."

"Are you sure?"

"No I'm not but it looks like her. I'll send you the footage." I said before hanging up and proceeding to send the video to Scar for her to visualize.

"Okay tell me it isn't true." That southern voice walked through my office door with tears in her eyes.

"What do you want Kelly?" I asked without raising my head and continuing the process of extracting the files to send to Scar.

"That is my son as well Sydney. You cannot push me away in a time like this." She cried while walking closer to me.

"Kelly you're a nuisance and a nuisance that I cannot deal with right now. So if you don't mind, the real mother of my child is searching for him and I need to go help her."

With that I grabbed my phone and the laptop and walked away. Forgetting how persistent and repugnant the human that I was coupled up with was, she followed me out.

"Sydney you need to stop and think about the fallacy of actions that you're committing ."

"I assure you I am not committing any omissions. Now if you'll excuse me."

"It was maybe her that kidnapped our child and you're  so enamored of her that you don't even realize the mistake you're making."

"Since we are talking about mistakes, let's talk about repercussions as well. Do you think because you took care of James while I was ill, you could've speak to him in any manner and there won't be any repercussions?"  I stopped dead in my tracks and turned to her with a deep scowl. At this moment I had no time for her silly antics and she was beginning to get on my nerves. I'm beginning to regret letting Scar keep her alive.

"I only corrected my child."

"My child," I corrected, "and that is not how you correct a child. He is three years old."

"Sydney, I apologize. Let's fix this. Come home please." She cried while touching my forearm.

"I'll let her go if I was you." An all too familiar voice called out.

Turning around I cane face to face with Jinx and I smiled with relief. She nod her head at me and I walked away with a sigh.

"Thank you."

"Anytime."

"What are you doing here though?"

"I'm here to see you obviously. So I got a lead and the perpetrator may be Celene in all honesty. I have a friend who works at chi steal and she told me that the same day of the video, she was going to call the cops on Smith but a blonde woman came and took custody of him." Jinx turned to me as though she can see the cogwheels in my head turning.

"Did you see the footage of inside the store?" She asked again.

"No but of course I can get it. If that person is Celene, I swear to god I'll break every bone in her body."

"It won't come to that because I have a plan just like old times." The moment she said that it felt like my memories just flood back in and Jinx was the main star of this part.

/flashback/

"Jinx I need your help." I called after calling the one person I knew can help me with this.

After countless hours of waiting, Jinx finally showed up at my door. She rushed in and before I can say anything she begun.

"The only way this will work is if someone she loves get hurt."  I watched as Jinx stared at me with wide eyes and a plan that can get us both killed.

"Who?"

"Malik."

/end of flashback/

"Oh my God, we almost killed Malik. Why didn't you talk me out of that plan."

"Wait your remember?" She asked while jumping in front of me.

"Only small pieces but the message is clear."

"Well yes. At the moment it was the best idea but now, not so good of an idea." She nervously laughed.

"Wow."

"Wow is the best expression for it. Now back to that plan.We need your help mainly with this."

"What do you need?"

"We need Celene's laptop from her office so that we can get all information on Zhisuku and then we can track her with the location tracker we placed on her car. The main thing is to get her laptop and then we can work from there." Jinx explained her thoughts and all though they were vague, I knew I could've gotten the job done.

"Lucky for you, you have the best computer thief slash lawyer slash detective as your friend." Giving myself a small pat on the back I blew imaginary smoke from my fingers and grinned.

"Just come on."
