As the four cars filled with mercenaries rolled out from by the warehouse, Sydney watched as her new friends and her love interest risked their lives for her son. She felt selfish but she tried to convince herself that this was Scar's son too so she should not feel guilty. She wanted to be there with her in case of something going wrong but she knew her girlfriend was strong and will keep her promise of bring their son back.
She walked to her car where she will go to the precinct and busy herself with paper work to take the tension off. Jumping in her car she turned her radio on and tried singing along to some tunes. The ear piece was still placed in her ears so that she can hear any plans that the gang comes up with. She touched it and listened on to the conversation. She also took the laptop with her in case James says something again.
Pulling up to the precinct she pulled her stuff out and walked timidly towards her office. Her eyes were tired and it has been a long time since she once combed her hair. Her hair was in a messy bun and her eye shadow was smeared but she did not care. She walked through the precinct with pride until she entered her office.
Opening the laptop she placed it on her desk and turned it on. She walked to her coffee machine and poured herself a cup of coffee; One she knew she need badly. Sitting back down at her desk she took a sip of the hot liquid and sighed as it slid down her throat.
"Hello." The sound of James called and startled her.
"James." She called hysterically.
"Yes, I did it. You can hear me." He said quietly but excitedly.
"James baby. This is your mother. Scar is coming to get you."
"Finally. This man is scary mummy."
"I'm so sorry baby." She cried. She didn't want to imagine what her son went through. She was just glad that he was alive.
"How did you get the bug to make you hear us." She asked when realization hit her.
"I simply changed the direction of the fan mummy. The fan prevented me from hearing you so once the fan is moved I can hear. And you said I shouldn't be a scientist. I couldn't lie myself through this one." He proudly said and she herself felt extremely proud at the moment.
"Are you still in his office?"
"No, I'm at his house. Tell daddy I'm at his house."
"Okay. Sit tight baby."
Pressing the ear piece in her ear, she called unto scar, "James said that he is at Roger's house."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, now hurry. My son is scared."
"James." Sydney called.
"Shh mummy. The bad man is coming."
Sydney stayed quiet while James was heard talking to the man. "I am hungry."
"Well kid, you're going to be dead in less than a day so hunger should be the last thing on your mind."
"We'll see." James muttered.
"You're very fearless. If I didn't hate your mother with every bone in my body maybe I would've liked you."
"I would've never liked you either way."
"Just like your mother kid. Now stay here."
"I hate that man." James whispered.
"I hate him too. Scar is on her way. Sit tight."
On the otherhand of operations, Scar and the gang rolled up to a large modern day house. The house was intricate with white and gold patterned tiles. "That evil man lives here?" John asked slowly.
