I lay there, petrified, I knew this thing had ill intentions. I couldn't see it properly, but I could make out a head, with gleaming white teeth and eyes and antlers grinning at me, on a disproportionate dun toned body. It's body was long and skinny, it's hands had long claws, probably to rip the skin off my bones. And it's legs were long, so long, bent at an unnatural angle. It moved closer, and closer, and closer. Until I could feel it's foul breath on my neck, "Don't move," "Don't move." It spoke again. "Don't move. Don't move. Don't move, Don't move. Don't move." It repeated, I tried uselessly again to turn my head away from this disgusting creature, to shut my eyes so I wouldn't have to lay my eyes on it.

"Don't move, Don't move. Don't move. Don't move." I couldn't move. I stopped trying and accepted my doom. I was going to die on this bed. "Matt!" "Wake up!" It was Freya's voice. I moved my head, and to my surprise, my body did as instructed. She slapped my face. "Hellooooo?" "Geez, I'm awake," I groaned, I slowly got up. "Matt, what the hell happened? Were you having a nightmare or something?," "It's nothing, don't worry," I reassured her, but she wasn't buying it. "Fine? Really? You didn't look "fine" to me. Tell me what happened." "Alright. Well I had this awful dream there was this.. this thing, and it was standing at the corner of the room and I couldn't move. I was stuck on the bed, it moved closer to me, I could feel it's breath on me." She stood there, wide eyed. "Oh man, that's crazy, I think you just experienced sleep paralysis."

It then struck me this is what happened. Sleep paralysis. When you're sort of in the midst of consciousness and unconsciousness. But that was it. Just a figment of my crazy imagination. Boy, was I wrong. Sometimes, you wake up from a nightmare, and you're back in your cozy bed, and whatever horrible thing was after you all disappears and you never see it again. But sometimes, waking up isn't quite enough.

I laughed, "I hope I never have to experience that ever again!"
