Why Won't The Sun Rise?

Then I just realized something. The time still read 3:33 on the clock. I figured it had just frozen. Although that  still wouldn't explain the fact that it was still pitch black outside. "Hey, do you notice something odd?" Freya asked me. "Yeah, I feel like it should be later now." I replied. "Same, it's still so dark outside, but it felt like I was asleep for days." "That's what I was trying to tell you!" I exclaimed. So I wasn't the only one. Something weird was going on.

Then is when I heard it. A light tapping sound coming from the door. I looked at Freya. We stared wide eyed at each other. I tried to convince myself on something rational, but something still didn't feel right. "Probably just an animal," I whispered. Now, I never believed in the supernatural, or aliens, or different dimensions, I believed you live for a while on this planet, then die, when you do die, nothing happens. It's just like a dreamless sleep, but forever. No heaven, no hell, no purgatory. I thought all that was bullshit. But this motel was starting to make me think otherwise.

The tapping got louder, and louder, and louder. I started shaking and felt nauseous. I clutched my stomach and the sickly feeling only got stronger, I had the urge to throw up so I ran to the bathroom and emptied the contents of my stomach into the toilet.

"Matt you okay?" Came Freya's voice. "Yeah, I'm okay." I said, coughing up more bile. "Are you sick? Do you need some medicine?" She asked, concerned. "Nah, I'm fine don't worry." More sick. This time, my puke had red in it. Blood. "Okay, I think I may need some medicine." When I thought I was finished, I flushed the toilet and rinsed my mouth. The tapping had stopped, but was replaced by footsteps outside our door. Pacing round and round. I tried to ignore it. Freya glanced nervously towards the door and started shaking. "Do you have any gum?" I asked. The disgusting taste filled my mouth. She shook her head and stared at the door, as if expecting something to burst through.

I looked at the door too. There was a peephole, I walked up to it and brought my eye to it. "What do you see?" Freya whispered. The pacing suddenly stopped. Nothing. Nothing was out there. "There's no one outside." I whispered. "What? Impossible!" She got up and took a look for herself, whoever- or whatever was out there had vanished without a trace. "You heard it too... what's going on?" "I.. I don't know," I checked my phone. 3:33 am. "Freya check your phone for the time," I said shakily. "3:33 am." She answered. This made no sense. "Wasn't it 3:33 like an hour ago?" She said, her voice breaking. "Why isn't the sun rising? It can't still be 3 am, it's.. it's impossible."
