Christmas arrived and Slughorns party soon dawned on the guests who were invited.
Robyn really didn't want to go but she had already avoided going to any of the Slug Clubs up to this point so she knew she wouldn't be able to come up with an good enough excuse to miss this time. She knew going with Harry would make it enjoyable so she had that to look forward to and she would be seeing Hermione aswell.
Robyn decided to curl and pin back her brunette hair and she wore a red high-low dress and black flats as she really didn't feel like wearing heels.
Hermione had already left to meet her date; Cormac Mclaggen who Robyn, when she found out, pulled a face at and it seemed Hermione was feeling the same. It occurred to Robyn that Hermione was only using Cormac to get to Ron.
Robyn checked her makeup before exiting the girls dorm and walking down to the common room. Harry was already waiting looking very handsome in some black wizard robes.
Harry beamed when he saw Robyn. "You look beautiful."
Robyn couldn't help the heat rising to her cheeks. "Thank you, you look very handsome yourself."
Harry turned very red. "Should we get going then?"
Robyn nodded and held Harry's hand which he held out to her.
Once they made it to Slughorn's classroom it was bustling with activity and it had already been transformed into a winter wonderland fitting perfectly for the festive season.
Slughorn noticed the couple and beckoned them over instantly. Robyn held back a groan as Harry pulled her along towards their Potions Professor.
Slughorn beamed at them. "Harry, Robyn so glad you could make it. Meet an old friend of mine, Mr. Sanguini."
Sanguini smiled at them and took Robyn's hand and bowed. "Charmed."
Realisation then dawned on Robyn. She knew this guy. Luna had heard about the guest list of Slughorn's party and was quick to tell Robyn her disappointment about not being able to meet him.
"Oh! You're the vampire Eldred Worple interviewed for his book 'Blood Brothers'!" Robyn couldn't help but blurt, remembering what Luna had told her.
Harry looked at her weirdly but didn't question how she knew this.
"Indeed, my dear." The author smiled.
"My friend Luna thought your story was fascinating..."
Harry stood there while they talked and soon his eyes fell upon Hermione all dressed up, standing besides McLaggen, who looked much too smug. Slughorn was greeting them and soon pulled McLaggen away with him to have a conversation.
Harry saw the opportunity to talk to Hermione. Harry nudged Robyn and nodded his head at Hermione.
Robyn smiled apologetically at Sanguini. "If you'll excuse me, my friend just arrived."
Sanguini nodded, and walked again to Slughorn's side.
Harry and Robyn moved towards Hermione. "You didn't really come with McLaggen?" Harry couldn't help but ask.
Hermione held her chin high. "I knew he'd annoy Ron most."
Slughorn's voice suddenly rang around the room. "Severus, come join us; you know, I haven't had the chance to compliment you on the fine job you've done teaching my subject all these years!"
And to Harry's great horror, Slughorn made his way back over to him, a grumpy looking Snape trailing behind.
Harry and Snape instantly glared at eachother, Slughorn not noticing the tension but Hermione and Robyn did, and they shifted on their feet nervously.
Slughorn placed a hand proudly on Harry's shoulder as he addressed Snape. "Harry here is the perfect example. Such a deft hand at Potions!"
Snape's glare intensified as he stared down at Harry, knowing full well Harry had never showed any talent at Potions. "How interesting. I never had the impression that I managed to teach Potter anything at all."
Before Slughorn or anyone could utter a reply, Filch came storming into the room, dragging a sullen looking Draco with him. They make their way up to Slughorn.
"Professor Slughorn, sir! I found this one lurking about in the upstairs corridors. Claims he was on his way here. Dressed like that, I said? A likely story!" Filch had his usual expression of evil delight at the fact he had caught a student doing something they shouldn't be.
While Harry was waiting for Slughorn to arrange some sort of punishment, he did quite the opposite and beamed at the Slytherin boy. "Draco! I'm glad you decided to accept my invitation after all. Of course he may stay."
Filch's mood plummeted instantly and Snape was looking at Draco with some kind of alarm that made Robyn think something was going on.
"I'd like a word with Mr. Malfoy, actually." Snape said.
"Now, Snape, it's Christmas. Don't be too hard on the boy for his attire." Slughorn chuckled merrily.
Robyn suddenly had the strangest feeling of being watched. She turned her head to the door and a blur off sandy hair and Ravenclaw robes met her vision.
"I'm his head of house, and I shall decide how hard, or otherwise, to be. Come with me, Draco." Snape hissed and led Draco out the room.
Robyn saw Harry's eyes follow them and she knew that he was going to follow them but she didn't have the heart to stop him as her mind was whirling with questions. Who was that by the door? And more importantly why did it look like Noah?
(Sorry it's such a short chapter and sorry it's been forever since I last uploaded but I've been super busy and the fact I start college again next week is stressing me out.)
