Thomas POV.

Thomas's dad is helping him get his room set up. His dad is much less embarrassing than his mum. However, in this circumstance, his mum would probably be better at helping set up his room. There was a rather undignified struggle with the fitted bedsheets, where both Thomas and his father seemed to struggle more than a normal person should.

His room was looking pretty bare so far. Now that they finally had the bed made, Thomas's side of the room consisted of navy bedsheets with a gray comforter on top, a blue study lamp with several empty notebooks, binders and new pens on his desk, and laundry hamper that was shoved into the corner by his closet, where he's already stored all of his clothing. In truth, his things seemed a lot less personal or homey than what he'd seen in Fleur's room.

However, he did bring some books of his own. The Great Gatsby, As a Man Thinketh, some Starwars books that he planned on hiding from everyone. No one needs to know that he is a closet nerd yet. He's also brought a couple decks of cards and some contraband cigarettes. He kept the cigarettes hidden from his parents too, knowing they wouldn't approve of him breaking rules at his new school already.

"You didn't bring very many of your things, did you?" His dad asks, looking around the room. There is only one box left with a few more personal belongings. He looks into it, concern evident on his face.

"No. I'll be fine." Thomas says with a shrug.

They've already signed him up for extracurriculars and clubs. At his mothers insistence, he'd signed up for the boxing team. Although, to be honest, it wasn't his first choice. Mostly, he agreed just to make her happy. There was a culinary arts class that he signed himself up for too, that he was actually pretty excited about.

It might seem weird for a teenager boy, but he'd been a bit worried about not having access to a kitchen. Thomas enjoys a myriad of things when he isn't in school or on set. For a few years, he's been learning to cook, and deeply enjoys fancy meals and difficult recipes. Although he would never admit it to anyone, he was very proud of his ability in the kitchen, and he'd enjoyed cooking for his family when he had the chance.

Thomas steps over to his window to look outside again. The day has passed much quicker than he thought it was, and the day is beginning to fade into dusk. His view out of his window isn't as nice as Fleur's view from her window. He can see the girls dormitory from his window, though, as well as some nice trees across the lawn.

His dad still frowns, asking, "We can send you some more of your things later. You'll be much more comfortable."

Thomas surveys his dad, muttering, "You and Mum made it sound like we might not even be here through the whole school year. Otherwise I might have brought more of my things."

His dad looks uncomfortable, which is exactly what Thomas was worried about. His dad starts, "That is true son, you might not. But there is also a good chance that you might be here for the whole year. You should pick up some stuff for your room when you go into town next. I know they allow seniors to go into town on weekends, as long as they have prior permission."

"I don't want to waste my money if we won't be here longer than a few months."

"Well, we'll keep you updated, Thomas. Until then, get some art or something that you can put on your desk at least. Something to make it less drab. And look out for your little sister. She doesn't know anyone except for you here, really. I guess she knows Fleur just a little bit too, but all the same," His dad sighs heavily, looking tired.

"I don't think you have to worry about Ava, dad. She's excited to be here. She'll make lots of friends." Thomas says, deciding to drop the subject of how long he'll be here. He wasn't going to get an answer about that from his parents until they were actually ready to bring him and Ava back to London.
