Fleur POV.

"We're seniors," Trixie whines loudly in the study hall. "We aren't supposed to have this much stuff to do, are we? We've done our time."

You've been studying and doing homework with your friends for about an hour now in the study hall. It's about 4:00 in the afternoon on your second day of classes at Gandy. This is typical Trixie though. School doesn't agree with her.

On the other hand, you're enjoying your time at Gandy again. Just walking around and seeing all the students gives you new life. The jocks, so focused and competitive, pushing themselves harder every day. The nerds, with their noses in books with messy notes scribbled on the palms of their hands, reminding them of assignments due later (these ones especially remind you of absent-minded professors). The poets and artists of the school, with stars gracing their eyes and a light of mystery coming across their faces each time they doodle on their papers - or in some cases their arms.

You just love seeing everyone being so different. Gandy always felt like a place that it was okay to be individual. To be different. This is a secret, bustling world, away from everything else.

Ariana looks up at Trixie from her Spanish homework, the light hitting her fake red hair and making it look even brighter than normal, rolling her eyes at Trixie, "Girl, we've just begun our final year of high school. I think it's a bit too soon to be saying we've done our time."

Groaning, Trixie rests her head against the polished, mahogany table and pouts, "I think I'm just going to slap an 'out of order' sign on my forehead and call it a day."

Yua, who is easily distracted on a good day, reaches over and grabs Trixies homework, squinting to read it over. After a few moments, she scolds in her thick, Japanese accent, "Saa, this is only history! Quit being lazy and get your homework done!"

"Oh, how I've missed you, Yua." Trixie sighs, giving Yua an annoyed glare, "You're about as sweet as a blunt sword."

Erica leans against the table a bit to pat Trixie's hand, offering, "Face it, girlfriend. This year is as easy as it's going to get. The rest of our lives are just going to be an endless, repeated kick in the nuts."

"I just might go nuts if I don't get to go outside soon." Trixie says, looking longingly out the window. She brushes some of her frizzy, red hair from her face as she huffs, "It's too beautiful a day to be cooped up to learn about dead people."

"Amen to that!" Someone says, coming up behind you.

You turn to see Erica's little sister, Georgina standing behind you, looking over your table to observe the organized chaos that is spread across it's gleaming surface. Really, it just looked like a big mess. Trixie in particular was pretty chaotic, so her things were splayed all across the table. Ariana wasn't much better. It made you glad you only had to share a room with Erica this year. Erica's usually only a little messy, but she tidies up regularly.

"What do you want, Georgina?" Erica says, looking perturbed. Usually Erica and her sister don't mix much at school - unless one of them needs something from the other. And on Sundays, when they'll attend church together.

True to form, Georgina leans over to Erica, whispering, "I need a tampon or a pad. Do you have anything?"

"You didn't bring your own?" Erica snaps, glaring over her shoulder at her sister.

"My period came early!" Georgina defends, giving her a sister a glare in return that makes them look freakishly similar. She's about two years younger than Georgina, but she really knows how to talk back to Erica.

"So?"

"So, I was going to pick some up when I was able to go into town next. It's not my fault that my period came early."
