Feeling absolutely stuffed after a dinner of cheeseburgers and fries in the dining hall, you march up to your dorm room, yawning. You glance out a stained glass widow as you pass it, looking at the red and orange leaves that cling to the trees. It's difficult to believe that you have almost been back at Gandy for a month already.

You wonder if there is something you could be doing that would help you appreciate your last year here even more.

Suddenly, your phone vibrates in your backpack. Anxiously, you scramble to grab your phone before it goes to voicemail. After a frantic search, you pull it out from the bottom of your bag, and see the name "Lavender" appear in grainy letters.

You flip open your phone and excitedly say, "Hello?"

"Fleur!" Lavender exclaims, "How are you?"

"I'm doing great," you say with a shrug. "I just had dinner. Cheeseburgers and fries, so I couldn't be happier."

Lavender asks, "There isn't anything else that you're happy about?"

Conversations such as these were very normal with Lavender. Since she was deep into astrology, she would frequently call Fleur, either to warn her about signs that she had been reading, or when she suspected that something was going to happen.

This was very clearly an occasion when Lavender was fishing for something in particular.

"Nope," you say with a slight smirk, tossing your backpack back on your shoulder and continuing to your dorm room.

Lavender continues skeptically, "There hasn't been anything...maybe a little romantic going on in your life lately?"

You bust out laughing, and blurt, "Lavender! Seriously?"

Lavender was naturally a very open and bold person. Because of this, you would normally share just about everything with Lavender. There were no secrets between the two of you. The thought of you not sharing any news about your love life with her was absurd.

"No, listen - I've been looking at the stars -"

"Shocker," you interject sarcastically.

"-and I'm showing some very clear signs that you'll be experiencing something in your love life very soon," Lavender finishes.

You sigh, finally making it to your dorm, "There isn't anyone that I can think of that would even be interested in me romantically."

"There is definitely someone,"  she states confidently. "The stars could not be clearer."

Flopping down on your bed with a groan, you hum, "Well, as soon as someone avows their everlasting ardency for me, I'll let you know immediately."

"You'd better. I'll know if you don't," Lavender threatens playfully.

You hum, staring up at your plain, white ceiling, "So, what's new with you?"

Lavender clicks her tongue, "Not much, really. I'm going to a work conference that I'm actually kind of excited for."

"Really?" You raise your eyebrows inquisitively, adding, "That's surprising."

Your sister was a bit of a contradiction of herself. Lavender loved trying new things and going on adventures frequently. Before your parents died, she would approach strangers with total confidence, no hesitation whatsoever. However, when your parents passed away, she developed some social anxiety that made meeting new people more difficult for her.

This hadn't affected her desire to be active. She still enjoyed all the things she used to - painting, theatre, biking. She still wanted to sweep herself off to another country or city every month or so. But, it was the people that made her anxious. Lavender also had a hard time sitting still anymore. If she doesn't have something to look forward to, she spirals.
