Larry had had a crush on Phoenix since grade school. They had always been close friends but he want more. He tried to find girl to give him the same feeling got when he look at Phoenix's smiling face. Her smiles were his favourite part about her. They could light up any room she walked into. Every time he tried to confess there was some one else.
First it was Dahlia Hawthorne, he got to listen Phoenix gush about how amazing her girlfriend was and how she love her. Dahlia was pretty cute, but she was like Phoenix. Larry saw through that mask Dahlia. He saw how manipulative she was. He tried to tell "feenie", but she would listen. They argued about it. This had been their first real fight. After it she didn't talk to him for an entire month. It hurt, but still he was the supportive best friend he always was. Her betrayal was hard on Phoenix, but Larry helped her pick up the pieces. He was there comfort her when she cried. He was always there.
The next person was Mia Fey. Phoenix admired her strength and courage. Mia, honestly, was a great person. She was beautiful as well as smart. Phoenix didn't fall as hard for her. She mentioned that she had confessed, but Mia was straight and had someone she was waiting for. He didn't ask for details. He hated how sad Phoenix was when Mia was taken from this world. He want her smile again.
This person was in his opinion the worse. Why him! Out of everyone him. Miles Edgeworth doesn't deserve Phoenix's smiles. He was cold hearted and mean, nothing like his Phoenix. She has fallen hard this time too. She hadn't said anything, but he was there during Edgeworth's trial. She fought hard and won. He saw how she looked at Miles during and after the trial. Love was so clear in those beautiful eyes of hers. Then he left, Miles left her. He tried to comfort her. She wouldn't talk about him. Phoenix got better and, he thought, moved on.
Larry had to get away for a bit. It was to hard to love her and just be friends, so he went away. Phoenix called him and said he should visit. He agreed. Phoenix and him fell back into rhythm as friends. It was like he had never left. His feelings had sadly grown stronger, but he pushed them back. She was still gorgeous, still funny, and her smiles had only gotten brighter.
He was walking down the street and it started raining. He ran to the closest store he find refuge in. The tea shop was filled with warm chatter. He ordered a cup of hibiscus tea and went to find a spot to wait out the storm. The shop was nice with booths and tables for customers to sit at. As he scanned the seating area, he saw them. Phoenix, in all her beauty, fingers intertwined with his. Miles fucking Edgeworth. He snapped, the cup of tea forgotten. As he approached he heard Phoenix laugh at something Edgy had said. Before they even saw him, he growled out "why, Phoenix!" Both heads shot up to stare at him. "Larry, what wrong? What do you mean why?" Phoenix asked concerned. Miles just looked confused and a little uncomfortable. Larry couldn't take it, his fist flew fast hitting Edgeworth square in the jaw. At least it was supposed to. Phoenix moved in between them and took the blow. Larry froze. He just hit, hurt, the woman he loved. 'WHY' his mind screamed. He just turned and ran out. The last thing he saw was Miles fretting over Phoenix as she stared at him.
