From that moment on, the class was silent. No one said a word. None of us dared to.
As we were excused from class, I heard familiar chatter behind me. Oh no, I thought. "So... stay away from the new kid, m'kay?" said the sappy voice. "And what if I don't, Sarah? What are you gonna do, tell those two airheads I'm a bitch?" I snapped. As I turned around, I saw a disgusted Sarah, standing in front of two matching girls named Jennifer and Jocelyn. (a/n: Jennifer and Jocelyn are often referred to as 'The J's') "Ugh," she scoffed, "What do you think you're doing with him anyway? It's not like he likes you." I felt my face turn deep red. "Oh, wait. Did you think he was going to settle for you?" Sarah and the J's cackled. "This is too good. He has standards, you know." Sarah, still laughing to herself, walked out of the room. I returned to cleaning up my stuff, trying to hurry so that I didn't be late to yet another class.
