While I was still staring at the space where Isaiah's car had been, I didn't notice that my dad was in the doorway, tear marks still on his face.

"Thank god. Don't ever do that again, you hear me?" I turned around swiftly. "Dad," I thought aloud, "Dad it's okay. I'm okay" I said, rushing over to hug him. "Well, I know that now. What were you thinking? I thought..." His voice wandered, I knew he was thinking of mom. "Dad..." He snapped out of his daze almost instantly. I knew that he had come to terms that I was safe, so now came the lecture. "Now. Would you mind telling me who that young man that dropped you off was?" I stood there, trying to figure out what I should tell him. "That was Isaiah, he's the new senior." I tried to stay calm and not get too excited, I'm not sure how that worked out for me. My dad muttered incoherently and we went inside. The second I passed in the house, Keith, my six-year-old brother ran into me. He looked up at me as if to double check I was okay and, buried his head once more. A few seconds later, I heard his muffled voice say, "You scared me Nai... Don't scare me, okay?" I already felt bad, but if you hear a little six-year-olds voice be weak from crying, you don't feel bad. You feel horrible. "Hey, hey, Keith... I'm sorry okay? I pinky promise I won't do that again. You know I didn't mean to scare you, right?" I crouched down to be Keith's height and told him that. He nodded rapidly, he knew I loved him too much to make him hurt like that on purpose. We walked into the kitchen to eat what was left of dinner. God, I wish it could have stayed like that forever.
