SPECIAL UPDATE! Luffy's Broken Promise!

HEYA everyone!So I just came to know that today I reached 1k reads and I must say I am going crazy.I remember how I went berserk when I hit 100 reads and I never thought I would reach this far.Its all thanks to y'all!In return I promise I will try to make this a beautiful fanfic so please keep supporting me!So yeah now THAT WE HAVE 1K READS I decided to post this loooong one shot on Luffy X Nami!Enjoy!

Luffy is a little outta character in this one.He's a bit mature so forgive me!

"Luuuffyyy!Where are you!?"a ten year old Nami shouted, searching for someone.She looked behind a few bushes but before she could give up she heard a giggle from under a slide.She sneaked behind the giggling figure and shouted,"GOTCHA!"

Luffy almost jumped and looked at her with surprise."Nami!You really scared me!"

"Shishishishi~You are a scaredy cat."she said giggling.

"Dont copy me!"Luffy shouted and grabbed Nami by her hand and took her to the slide.They both sat on the top of it and stared at the sun.

"So Luffy, you would be going to elementary school this year, because you are 11, a year older than me.And that means.."Nami said with a gloomy look.

"..we couldn't spend time together in school.Don't worry, we can be together next year!"Luffy completed, still staring at the sun.

"Theres no way my mom could afford me sending to Grand Line, the school where you are going..Its impossible for her with Nojiko and all."Nami said with watery eyes.

He heard a sob from Nami.He turned his head to see that the little Nami was crying, with her hands covering her eyes as her tears fell on her skirt.He quickly placed his straw hat on her head and wrapped his arms around her and asked,"Don't cry Namiii.I promise we would still be best friends and I will never leave you!"

"You promise?"Nami said wiping her tears.

"I promise."he said giving her a toothy grin.

She smiled back and took out a tangerine from her pocket.

"Yayyy~I would eat it!Give it to meee."Luffy said getting excited.

"Share with me idiot! "She said as they both giggled.

4 years later

Nami's POV

Today I was really excited!It was going to be my first day at guess where?Grand Line school!Over the years my sister graduated and had a paying job and thanks to that I could finally afford going to this school.I was really excited and I have heard it is a really big school with a separate club and lots of books of my my favourite subject-Navigation!

I packed my bag and hurried down the my stairs and kissed my mom goodbye.She hugged me and wished me luck as I left my home.I took a cab to Grand Line and reached a huge black gate.The school was magnificent, and a lot bigger than I expected.I was jumping up and down until I noticed a certain person among a group of boys .

Luffy.

Memories flooded my mind and I had a choking sensation.Over all these years, we have grown distant.He got to school and after some months he started avoiding me and stopped meeting me.It was heartbreaking for me.It was me who remembered his promise which he broke, along with my heart.

Flashback

Nami was walking home when she saw Luffy with his friends.She smiled and waved at him but after seeing her he frowned and looked the other way.She ran up to his group and said,"Hey Luffy!Wanna play with me?"

A blonde boy from his group laughed and said,"Luffy do you play with her.Hahahahaha."

Luffy turned red and said,"wait a second." And took me to a corner.

"Why don't you talk to me?Here take this."Nami said handing him a tangerine.He looked angry and threw away the tangerine from my hand on the road.Nami was heartbroken and stared at him with watery eyes.

"You..don't talk to me."he said.

"Why?I thought we were best-"

"Yes!We WERE best friends. We aren't friends anymore.Make some other godamn friends!Undertsand.And don't talk to me again!"he said and walked away.Nami was left crying on the street.

"B..But you promised me."

End

I cleared my mind and shook my head . This was no time to be dwelling in the past.I have to make a new start.With my new confidence, I entered the school gates.I was pretty confused where the principal's roon was so I approached a blue haired girl.

"Excuse me can you tell me the way to principal's office? "

She turned around and smiled at me.

"Alright."

She walked me upstairs to a huge hall to a wooden decorated gate.She took me inside and introduced me to the principal.

"You must me Nami right?" Principal Whitebeard said smiling.

"Yes.I am the new student."

"I see.I hope you have a great day.Ms. Vivi here is in your grade so I hope she would show you around.Enjoy."

With this we exited the room and Vivi shaked hands with me.

"I made a new friend!"she exclaimed ans started showing me around.The school was pretty big and I totally loved it.Plus Vivi was a nice girl too.I was astonished on seeing the library and the huge ground.This was one hell of a school.

But unfortunately we came around a group I didn't want to see.I noticed him, he noticed me.It was Luffy.

His group passed by us as if we never knew each other. I totally ignored him but I could feel him staring at me.

"Hey isnt it the dork from years before, Luffy?,"a green haired boy asked him.

"Yeah..Seems like she could finally afford the school!"he said and they all laughed. I was heartbroken and could feel myself on the verge of tears.How could he do that to me after all these years?Did he totally forget about my feelings and our so called friendship?

"Whats the matter Nami san?Do you know him?"Vivi asked puzzled.

"No..."I lied.

"Well he is Luffy and his most popular group.Zoro, Sanji, Ussop and Franky.Girls literally drool over them.Oh did I mention Luffy has a girlfriend two years elder than him, Boa Hacock?The prettiest and popular cheerleader in the school.She is head over heals for him."

I smiled at her and thought,"A girlfriend huh?"
