"I knew we shouldn't have left her behind," I heard a voice mutter.I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't it was if someone taped my eyelids shut.
"What I want to know is how they manage to break into my tower, break past the firewalls that are tougher to crack than SHIELD's and disable Jarvis," an angry voice spoke from another side of the room.
"We'll work on it Tony but for now let's focus on Ella," a calm voice spoke up.
"I am focusing on her, I'm focusing on the fact that they hacked my software and harmed her!" The angry voice rose," there is nowhere safe for her now on earth!"
The room was so silent, you can hear a steady beep resound around the room.
"I thought she would've been able to defend herself," a soft feminine voice spoke as someone stroke my hair.
That's it, I'm opening my eyes now.
"It's been diagnosed that she had a panic attack," the calm voice spoke up again.
Ok, now.
"She was very fortunate I had no serious commitments on Asgard at the moment and Heimdall sought me in time. I do not wish to think what would've happen to lady Ella," an accented voice spoke up sadly.
Thor?
I forced my eyes open then squinted at the bright sunlight that entered the room. I should've kept my eyes closed. Before I could take that thought into action, Tony practically jumped onto my bed, about to hug me then remembered last minute and dropped his arms. He then coughed awkwardly and looked away. Looking around the room I see Natasha next to me sitting on a chair, Bruce standing at the end of my bed smiling at me sadly, Steve and Thor on the couch also smiling at me sadly and Tony sitting on the edge of my bed. I now notice then tubes hooked up to me and the heart monitor.
"Hey kiddo it's good to have you back," Clint pushed off of the wall and moved over to ruffle my hair.
"How long was I out?" I asked surprised at how hoarse my voice was.
"Just a couple of hours," Bruce responded.
"Thor went to SHIELD to alert some doctors then returned to stay with you. By the time we heard of the news we were already on our flight home and it's been 4 hours since we have arrived back," Natasha explained.
"I felt as if I've been hit by a bus," I complained," what's a girl got to do to get some food around here?"
"I'll make you my famous chicken noodle soup," Clint smiled walking towards the door.
"Daddy Clint to the rescue," I teased.
"It's good to see you back to normal, Ella," Steve smiled.
"But I'm afraid we have lots to discuss," Tony spoke up looking frustrated and upset.
"Ok but first, Thor?"
"Yes lady Ella?" He rose and stood next to my bed.
"Just Ella, Thor," I reminded and place my hand on top of his," thank you so much for coming all this way for me, it really means a lot."
He grinned about to raise his hand then he put it back down," Anything for you, young Ella."
I rolled my eyes at his name for me since I was little.
"Ok happy time is over, Steve, what did you all get from the mission?" I asked growing serious.
"Take it easy, you're still recovering from your panic attack," Bruce warned and I stuck my tongue out at him in response.
He sighed and spoke regretfully," it was decoy, all they had left behind was some blueprints for some serious tech but other than that, the place was empty. We believe it was their plan all along to draw us out then attack you."
I inhaled sharply taking in all the information then spoke," they've gotten a lot stronger, a lot smarter."
"Which is why I'm concerned that you are no longer safe here, with us," Tony said.
"If I'm not safe here, there is nowhere else on earth for me to go," I dead panned.
"Young Ella is right, I believe it's best if you come with me, to Asgard," Thor spoke determinedly.
"Thor that's wonderful of you to be so concerned over me but I can't just-"
"Ella, I think Thor is right," Tony looked at me sadly.
"What? No! Steve you're going to let him just do this?" I looked to Steve with hope.
"Asgard's armies are no match for Earth's you'll be much safer there than here," Thor reasoned.
Steve shrugged lost," At least until we can hunt them down and put a stop to this. We know now they're after you more than ever."
"Nat?" I looked to the quiet assassin for help.
"It looks like our best option," she spoke lowly.
"So that's it? You're just going to ship me off when you promised I could get my revenge,"
"Ella breathe, you'll induce another attack," Bruce warned.
I took deep breaths trying to calm myself down now noticing it was getting harder for me to breathe.
"This is so much more than we thought it would've been. MADRIG is no threat to be taken lightly and this is coming from the guy who had to fight in World War 2," Steve said.
"They're as bad as HYDRA," Tony muttered.
I sank deeper into the pillows and groaned seeing I have no choice.
"When do I leave?"
"As soon as I get the All Father's approval which should take 3 days time,"
I sighed at looked at the ceiling.
"That's enough of stressing her out, we should leave and you should get some rest," Bruce commanded in his doctor voice.
There was the scuffle of feet as everyone left the room but I still felt a prescience next to me.
"I know how you feel. Desperate to get revenge. Our pasts maybe very similar but you are now more fortunate than I was and you should take advantage of that," Nat spoke softly.
I sat up in alarm that she actually spoke of her past. She never does that. Only once I've heard her spoke of it to say that she too grew up in one of training academy for girls and she knew many girls like me and that was when the Avengers had now saved me and took me in as their own and were trying to get me to open up to them.
"Nat, I-"
" No don't say anything, just please take care of yourself and don't follow in my footsteps ok?" She smiled before getting up and leaving.
"Rest now because the next couple of days are going to hectic for all of us," she closed the door leaving me to my thoughts.
I laid back down and stared at the crisp white ceiling until my eyes began to droop once again.
