Rose Perfume

"Carlisle, are you-- oh, sorry." A beautiful girl with long flowing blonde hair stood in the doorway, "sorry." She turned to leave but Carlisle called her back. She sighed and introduced herself to me, "I'm Rosalie, you can call me Rose."

I stood to properly meet her, "Meredith." I held out my hand and she gently shook it. "It's nice to meet you," I smiled as genuinely as I could. She agrees with a nod and a smile. She reminded me of Adeline... stiff and mean, but really not that bad.

She turned back to Carlisle, "I was wondering if you were planning on going hunting at all? Or anything?" She raised her eyebrows, "Emmett is asking about a possible trip to Denali for the weekend." She glanced at me again, you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't watching closely.

"Nothing planned other than working with Meredith," he said, his voice as smooth as velvet, "I'm sure they would love to host the two of you, it's been some time since we've connected." He nods in thought, "send my well wishes." She informs him that they'll leave later that night, after dark.

Carlisle was called in at the hospital. I was welcome to continue looking around his office, but I'd rather wait until someone is around to tell me the stories behind everything. Instead, I wandered the house a bit. Everything was beautiful. Even the floors and ceilings.

"Well, you really are even smaller than Nessie, aren't you?" A loud voice laughs from behind me. I spin around and come face-to-face with who I assume is Emmett. He was large and intimidating. "Emmett," he smiles, "I'm sorry, Meredith, but you're just so small... I don't understand."

I shrug, laughing. "Is being small a bad thing?" I challenge, raising an eyebrow. He was extremely large, I could probably fit in the palm of his hand, honestly. It's ridiculous the ratio between us.

"Well... no..." he shrugs, turning as if to walk away. He doesn't walk away, he whips himself back around at lightly speed and suddenly has me flying up in the air toward the high ceilings. Instinctively I curled into a ball seeing the ceiling dangerously close. But soon I was gracefully coming back down. Emmett caught me softly. "You're like a doll."

I laughed, pushing hard against Emmett to make him set me down. He tossed me up again, this time I was less afraid and landed lightly on my feet. I smirked at him as he smiled, impressed.

"You may be small but it makes you impressively silent... probably comes in handy in--" he cocks his head to the side, "do you hunt?"

I shook my head, "once." I sigh, "it's too dangerous to hunt... I'm not as strong as an average vampire." I roll my eyes at my parents words... well, Amelia's words.

He raised a large eyebrow, "but I'm sure you're stronger than an average gazelle." We both laughed, and heard a light throat clearing from the doorway, Rosalie.

"Please don't encourage her to disobey her parents, dear." She glides into the room and plants a kiss on Emmett's lips. "While I'm sure you're overly capable, Mer... maybe don't deliberately make us bad influences." She smiles but has her arms folded across her chest.

"No promi--"

"Good morning!" Nes skips into the room still in her pajamas, or maybe just a comfy outfit. It's sunny outside, not quite what I would call a pajama day. She hops up to sit on the counter, "where's grandpa, I thought he was helping Meredith today?"

"Got called in," I tell her, "some kind of medical mystery or something." I shrug, "what do ya wanna do today?"

"Mmmm... wanna go down to LaPush?" She kicks her legs like a child, "it's been a while for me... I miss the guys."
