The mission

You have known natsu for about a month now. Happy is still training with the other exceeds and natsu has all but moved in with you. He sleeps with you every night he's in town but he does go home and go to the guild. Those men haven't been seen since the night natsu threatened them and natsu has been on time picking you up from work when he's in town.

He has gone on a few missions where he's been gone for a few days but nothing major. When he does come back he rushes to see you which makes you happy. He hasn't brought up the fact of you having a crush on him since that night but it doesn't bother you. It's obvious you two have gotten closer. He's like your best friend more than anything and your just happy you know him.

Natsu is currently on a mission but he should be back before you get off of work tonight he said. "3 days tops!" Were Natsu's exact words and today is the third day.

You finish up your shift and head outside. No sign of natsu. You sigh and start walking home. No one dares bother you now that they all know your friends with natsu. You are just about to reach your apartment when you hear someone running to you. You turn around and see a shadow running at you. You get in a fighting stance because it's only one person.

"Y/N!" You hear the voice call

"Natsu?!" You yell and try to see if it is him. He runs up and hugs you.

"Natsu! I'd know this warm hug anywhere!" You squeal and hug him tightly. He laughs and picks you up and spins you around.

"I told you I'd be back today!" He shouts.

"Shhh natsu keep your voice down. It's late remember?" You fuss at him but laugh at the same time. He laughs and nods and grabs your hand.

"Come on let's go home." Natsu says and pulls you back to your apartment.

"It's your home to now huh?" You tease as you walk with him holding his hand

"I guess it is huh? My home away from home." He says with a grin. You laugh.

You make it home and open the door and you both enter and close the door behind you.

"You know natsu I have never been to your home. Maybe I can see it someday?" You ask as you head to the bathroom to change.

"Sure!" Natsu says as he sits on the bed.

You emerge from the bathroom and head over to the bed.

"So when's the next mission?" You ask and he flinches.

"Tomorrow..." He says sadly. "That's what kept me from meeting you in time. I finally agreed to it because everyone says they needed me."

"Oh that's ok. At least I get to see you again before you go. How long will this one take?" You ask and he flinches again.

"I don't know. It looks difficult. It could take a few weeks." He says with pain in his voice.

"Oh...ok...just remember your promise. Ok?" You say sadly

"I remember. I'll be ok. I'll always come back for you." Natsu says while kissing your check.

"You say it like you love me or something." You say teasingly.

Natsu doesn't reply or even move. Is he even breathing?! You think and start to freak out.

"Natsu?!" You say with panic and look up at him. He finally breathes out and you relax. "Don't scare me!" You yell and plop your head on his chest.

"Y/N" He says your name softly and you look up at him and he kisses you on the lips.

Your eyes grow wide and you pull away in shock. "Natsu! Does this mean you love me?" You ask in shock. He blushes. "Oh Natsu! I love you to!" You say and kiss him.
