Working together

I've hardly let go of Natsu since he's been back. People say I'm clingy but I don't care. I told natsu if he needs space to tell me so. I've decided to go to work again since he's been back a week now. He agreed to walk me to and from work. I don't work nights anymore since I practically own the restaurant now. The boss I had retired and made me manager. Since I don't have to pay rent at Natsu's place and I didn't have to buy a ton of food I was able to save up to buy the restaurant. I almost have enough to pay in full. I told Natsu of course and he's ecstatic about having a restaurant to go to eat at.

"Natsu. I'd like to go on missions with you sometime now that I can fight." You say as you walk together to the restaurant.

"I guess so. You are in the guild and you have proven to be a good fighter."

"Let's go on a mission tomorrow then? We can start with a simple one then work our way up!" You say excitedly

"Ok. But we aren't going on them alone." Natsu says

"Fine by me." You say with a smile

You soon arrive at the restaurant and you invite natsu in to eat which he gladly accepts.

"It doesn't mean to pig out either!" You tell Natsu as you head in the back. You stop a waitress and tell her "don't let him overdo it. Give him 2 orders max. If we don't stop him he will eat everything!" You whisper yell and she giggles and nods.

You work and occasionally glance at natsu. You see him whine when the waitress refuses to bring him more food.

You walk over and say "everything ok sir?" With a smile.

He looks at you and frowns. "She said I can't get more food." He pouts and you laugh.

"I told her not to let you keep eating. If you weren't limited you'd eat everything." You say with a smile and a wink.

Natsu blushes and bury's his face in his scarf. "Go on to the guild now natsu. I'll see you later." You bend over and kiss his cheek and he blushes more. You walk away and he gets up and leaves.

That evening natsu arrives to walk you home. You've already informed everyone you won't be in tomorrow and you told your assistant manager to be in all day tomorrow. You offer Natsu to eat at the restaurant for dinner which he gladly accepts. Again you limit him and he frowns but he's just happy to have food. Once your done you both walk home and prepare for tomorrow.

The mission was easy. A delivery mission. So you told natsu to pick another. He picked a bounty mission where you capture bad guys. But that one proved to be easy to!

"Natsuuu! Where the real missions?!" You whine while your standing at the request board again.
You see him frown and look at the board.

"Here how about this one. Retrieve a lost ring for a wealthy nobleman. Sounds easy to me! I can sniff the ring out." He says with a grin "and it pays really well!"

"Alright. At least with this I'll have enough to officially buy the restaurant and have money left over!" You agree and you both take the job.

The job is a few cities over so you both have to take the train. This is your first time with natsu on a train and you feel bad for him and his motion sickness. You pull him close to you and rest his head on your shoulder and gently rub his head and he falls asleep. Happy is with you for the mission and is cuddled up on your lap asleep as well. You look at them both and smile.

I'm really lucky to have these two.

You reach your stop and wake them up. They groan but follow you off the train. Happy lands on your head and you giggle.

Natsu looks and laughs. "Happy really likes you."

"I can see" you giggle.

"Aye." Happy agrees and you all laugh.

You make your way to the house where the request came from and knock on the door. The door opens to reveal a tall muscular man with black hair and tanned skin. Natsu smells the air and growls and steps in front of you.

"Natsu what's wrong?" You ask

"He smells exactly like one of the guys that attacked you!" Natsu yells and you gasp

"Oh you must mean my brother Rob. I am aware of his actions against a beautiful young lady and let me assure you I am not him." He says reassuringly.

"Your voice. Sounds familiar." You say softly.

"I was at his trial. I did speak in his defense but I did it half heartedly. I was happy when he was put in jail." The man explains. "My name is Mark by the way. Please do come in."

You both nod and enter but natsu never put his guard down.

"You both will be staying in the guest room until the ring is found. It was lost somewhere in the city. Once it's found you will receive your reward. It is a gold ring with a ruby in the center and diamonds surrounding the ruby." Mark explains

"Ok. Thank you. We will just put out things in our room and start searching." You say as you pull natsu to the guest room.

"Relax natsu. He says he's not the same guy. Just because they are related doesn't mean he's evil to. But I don't blame you for being cautious. Just don't make this awkward. Ok?" You plead with natsu once you both enter the room. He looks at you with anger and sadness but then softens.

"Ok. I'll try my best. But I'm not letting my guard down." He says

"Deal" you agree.
