ch 24: I'm Sorry

Judah's POV
After dad sent me to my room I texted my bsf Andi and asked him if he wanted to come over today, he said he'd be here in 15 minutes I went downstairs to ask Callie something "hey Callie, Andi's coming over and I want you to not bother us whi we're playing" She nodded "thank you" I went back to my room to play grand Theft Auto, dad doesn't know I have the game though so he can't tell me not to play it.

Amelia's POV
I was currently trying to get Callie to give me the candy she had in her mouth but every word I said came in one ear and out the other "Callie Rene McCann, give me the candy now" She looked at me like I was crazy "NO!!" She screamed, I'm trying to be patient with her because I told Jaime not to spank her because she's three but she's testing me "give it. Now" "Take it from me" She said "what did you just say?" I grabbed her arm "I said Take. It. From. Me." She said slowly and made sure I heard each and every word. I grabbed her and took the candy and put her over my lap SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK "you don't ever tell me no, or sass me do you understand?" SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK "yes m-mommy, oww!!" SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK "now go to your room" She ran the opposite way and went to the backyard instead screaming "DADDDYYYY!!" I sighed and went to get a glass of coffee from the kitchen "these kids are gonna be the death of me" I drank my coffee.
Jaime's POV
I was in my backyard with the guys and barbecuing and I heard Callie run through the house to the backdoor screaming "DADDDYYY!!!" She cried and reached for me I picked her up and tried to sit her down but she wouldnt sit "baby what's wrong?" I asked her and she just kept crying "baby I can't help if you don't talk to me" I said rubbing her back "m-mommy 'p-panked m-mee" She cried into my neck. I took her in the house and went to find Amelia, I found her in the kitchen sitting down with a cup of coffee "why did you spank her after you told me not to" I asked and she looked at Callie then at me "because I told her to give me the candy she had in her mouth 6 times and on the 7th time she said and I quote 'Take. It. From. Me' so I spanked her" I looked at her and then at Callie "is this true" She nodded and I put her down and got to her level and held her hands "baby, if you do something bad and you get spanked for it then you can't come running to me or mommy, you have to listen to what we say ok" She nodded "ok daddy" I looked at Amelia and she looked at me "the point of a punishment is to not baby them after it" She said and walked off, what's her problem? I picked Callie up and took her outside with me and Judah was playing football with Andi and Zack his friends "Judah, let Callie play with you while I cook please" He groaned "dad, it's just boys" I looked at him "I don't care, your going to camp tomarrow and you should spend time with her so play something else so she can play too" I said and put her down and she ran and played with them and I continued to cook.

After the party thing and everyone went home I cleaned up the house and the backyard then I took Callie to her room and tried to put her to bed "Daddy I'm not tired" She yawned "yes you are now go to sleep" I laughed "but the monsters are gonna come out" She said like it was the most obvious thing in the world "there's no such thing as monsters" I said "can you check my room" I looked at under the bed, in the closet, behind her door, in and around the castle she had. Yes my little princess actually has a castle in her room with a bridge., and I looked behind her dresser "see,  no monsters now go to sleep" I said and she went to sleep. I went to my room next and I say Amelia on her side of the bed facing the window "babe?" I called her "baby?" I tried again "Amelia?" She just won't talk to me "what did I do?" I asked her,  she looked at me and turned around "Are you gonna tell me or not" I asked while laying on her legs and she tried to push me away "Jaime.move" She tried to kick her legs but wouldn't let her "tell me what I did and I'll move" I said and covered her whole lower body "Jaime I'm serious get off me" She said and tried to move my head off her stomach "not til you tell me" She groaned and huffed "Jaimeeeaahhhh moveeeee" She tried pushing on my arms then she gave up and through her head back on the pillow "I'm sorry" I said and poked my bottom lip out she looked at me and rolled her eyes "Jaime you can't always do that" I looked at her "do what?" "When I punish the kids,  you always baby them after" I looked at her "I do not" "Yes you do, you do it all the time" I shrugged "so?" She rolled her eyes again "ok that's it move, now" She tried to get off the bed "where are you going?" I asked her "none of your business, now move" She hit my arms "No" I put all my weight on her "move" She said almost crying "I'm sorry, ok please don't go" She looked at me "that's another thing you do you always say sorry when you make me mad or sad and expect everything to be ok" She said getting up and walking to the door that connects to our room and leads to the guest room "what do you want from me" I asked her "what?" "What. do. you. want. from. me." She looked at me with tears in her eyes "I want you to love me, be there for me, comfort me when I'm sad, mad, or just anything, I want you to be the man ik you are, i want yoube the Jaime I married when I was 22, I want a lot after things from you, but most of all I NEED YOU!" She ran into the quest and slammed the door. How did I not notice she needed me all this time I was too busy with work or stuck in my own little world I forgot about the ones that needed me I forgot about my wife, the one whose been there for me since I was 15 years old, the times I needed to be there for her I wasn't and I didn't see that til now. I walked to the door and tried to open it,  but when locked it "baby, open the door" I heard her sniff "No" She cried "baby please, just open the door I'm sorry ok" I tried to open it again but it didn't budge "no leave me alone, Jaime" She cried "Amelia, please just open the door, so we can talk" "No go away" I sighed and sat on the floor against the door "baby, I know I wasn't there for you for in the past and I'm sorry that I didn't realize it til now, but I promise from now on I'll be the man that I'm meant to be the, I promise I'll give you and the kids the attention you need from me and I promise to be there from now on. I want to change, but baby I can't do it alone I need you to be by side because without you there is no us, and I'm not complete unless I have you, I love you so much and I'll do anything for you to keep you happy, you are one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I don't think I can live without you so I'm gonna wait for you, no matter how long it takes ill sit her all night and wait" I sighed and put my head against the door. 5 minutes later she opens the door.
