Prologue
1896 – London, England
‘Henry,
I write to you from Southampton. My mission here has brought me grief, and I must leave. I cannot withstand Jace, the man I once cared for. He has betrayed me, yet claimed he did nothing wrong. I ask for you to help me. In return, I can help you free London from my father’s control for good. Only we have a slight issue. When I do return, I must stay well hidden. My father must not know I have returned to a place I once loved and live. That man will do everything in his power to bring me down on my knees and die by his blade just as my mother and brother did. I promised them that I’ll end him by mine, and I cannot die before I fulfilled the promise
I shall arrive at Whitechapel’s station, around midnight. I shall see you then, brother, if you choose to show up.Elise’
Henry’s POV
“I shall see you then, my sister.” I murmured as I folded the paper. I let out a sigh, upset knowing that Jace has yet betrayed Elise. The two were close, and many teased them about getting courted. Yet, I could not find myself to believe that he would do such thing to Elise. Though, I do take her word over his, if he did ever show up in front of me. “Henry?” A feminine voice caught my attention. I turned on my heels, my gaze catching a female, Evie. “Is everything alright?” She asked, and I nodded. “Yes, indeed. My friend, and sister, Elise is returning to London. She just finished a mission in Southampton.” I stated. “Well, does she have a place to stay? If not, we can add another cart on for her.” Evie suggested, and I looked away, my gaze flicking over papers that sat on a desk. “I’m not sure. Last time she visited was when she was little. I cannot tell you why, for it is not my story to tell. We will have to see. For now, best to leave the place as it be.” I replied, looking out the window. “Where is your brother? I would like him to be here when we do meet her.” I asked, my gaze flicking back to Evie’s. “I’m here, Greenie. Don’t go turning grey.” A male’s voice caught me from behind.
I turned on my heels and frowned. “Jacob.” I greeted, and he grunted at me. “Who’s this Elise.” He asked and I narrowed my eyes at him. “My sister. She’s returning from Southampton.” I growled. Evie came from my right side and rested her hand on my shoulder. “Jacob, don’t try and use your charm.” Evie stated. “She’s a guest, only here to do what she needs.” “Yes, yes. I shall try and not to charm her.” Jacob replied. I let out an annoyed sigh and cursed under my breath. “Come, we shall go and meet her. The bird takes a day to travel. She tends to travel by train, meaning that she must have left this morning.” I stated. “It is currently nighttime, soon midnight.” I stated. “I’ll go and talk to the train conductor. See if he can pull us into..” Evie trailed out, and I realized I never said which station. “Whitechapel’s station.” I said, my face turning slightly red. Evie’s face turn red too, and she nodded, quickly leaving the cart. Jacob and I stood there, in an awkward silence. It wasn’t long until we heard the cart door slide open. Evie popped her head in and gave us a small smile. “Come, he agreed to take us there and stop.” She said.
It wasn’t long until the train pulled to a stop. I stepped off the train, my gaze flicking from one person to the next. For a time of near midnight, there was many people standing there, waiting quietly. I let out a small sigh, worried that something happened to Elise. “It’s nearly midnight, Henry. The last time was nearly an hour ago.” Evie stated, and I nodded. “Yes, I know. I just worry. It’s been several years since I last saw her.” I murmured. “How old were you before she left?” Evie asked. “I left before her. I was twelve then, only came to London to train. Her mother was an assassin like her. Elise and I were taught by her mother, who was teaching us stealth. Unlike Elise, I was better at stealth. Her, well, a man best avoid her. She always won whenever we were put against each other. Always knocked my sword away and pinned down as if I was nothing but a feather.” I said, smiling slightly as the memory played in my head. “Yet, you never seem to get better.” A new voice joined Evie’s and I’s conversation. I turned on my heels to meet a certain blue eye, brown haired woman. I instantly recognize her. “Elise!” I stated, making my way to her. I pulled her into a hug, as she gasped for air. “Henry.. let.. go..” She said, and I chuckled. “Sorry.” I stated. “Oh! Before I forget.. I would like you to meet Evie and Jacob Frye.” I stated, as I pointed to the twins. Evie smiled at her, while Jacob gave his well-known smile. A smile that lured in many women in. How do I know? Let’s just say, Evie tends to curse him out about his women coming onto the train.
“Hello, I am Elise.” Elise stated.-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was one of my many attempted stories that never fully seen final production. The game I did this was Assassin's Creed Syndicate. The main character, Elise, is daughter of a passed assassin. Her mother, died at a young age, and had not father. As she helped Evie and Jacob free her home from Starrick's hands, she discovers stories about her mother and a man, one she assumes is her father.Pretty much meant to be a long rollercoaster.
