Nerves Ch.7

"I'm what now?!" Liza says in a frantic way. "Listen it might be a little nerve racking-" "A little? David I'm going to meet your family and so is our baby. And let me add the fact that we're not even together!" She says sighing.

"I know Liza I know but it's not going to be that bad I promise" David says grabbing Liza's hands. Liza sighs softly. "Well what should I wear?" Liza asks putting her hands on her hips. "Well I don't know, something nice I guess" he says shrugging and Liza sighs again.

"Listen Liza, you'll be okay I promise" David says, sitting Liza down on the couch and rubbing her back. "I know I know it's just-what if they don't..like me?" She says with worried eyes. "Come on who doesn't like Liza Koshy?" David says and Liza scoffs.

"The people who run that twitter account" she says a bit bitterly and David looks at her with sad eyes. He took her hands in his and laced his fingers with hers. "Liza you're one of the best people I've ever met in my life. Don't let others bring the happy Liza I know down okay?" He says seriously and Liza nods and smiles softly.

"I'm going to pick you up six okay?" He says getting up from the couch. "Leaving so soon?" Liza says and David gives her a side smile. "Sorry, the dinner is in two hours and I'm trying to get everything ready" he explains. "Wow, I never thought this would be so nerve racking" she chuckles and he nods. "I know but just remember- everything is going to be okay" he says before kissing Jade on her head and waving Liza goodbye.

Liza decides to put Jade down for a nap when she goes to get ready. Liza gets in the shower and washes her long hair. After forty-five minuets Liza gets out and puts some clothes on. She looks in the mirror at her long curly hair and sighs. She tucks some hair up so she'd see how she's look with short hair.

She smiled, she liked what she saw. She looked back at the time and shrugged. She grabbed her car keys and her baby and headed to the hair solan.

"Wait so we're meeting your girlfriend?" Sara asks. "No she's not my girlfriend" David answers. "But you had a baby with her!" Toby says innocently and David's sighs. "Guys David's just an F-boy and cant keep it in his pants" Ester says rolling her eyes and David glares at her. "What does that mean?" Toby asks and Ester snickers.

"Nothing Toby, just go upstairs and play with your toys or something" David says and Toby nods and Sara goes up with him. "You know what I said was true" Ester said shrugging. "I was under the influence" "Which is illegal considering your age-" "Ester stop it was one time!" "So the baby was a mistake?" "What?" David stops. "Your baby-it was a mistake?" She says.

"She wasn't planned but it definitely isn't a mistake, she's brought me and Liza closer together which is the best thing that's happened to me" David answers and Ester raises her eyebrows. "Interesting" she says and David rolls his eyes.

"Look do not say anything rude or stupid tonight okay? Liza's already nervous enough about this dinner" David warns and Ester nods and goes to her room.

"Mom?!" David says as his mother walks out of her room. "Yes?" "When's dad coming home? Is he going to make it in time for the dinner?" David asks. "Yeah he's coming home from work right now actually" she answers and David nods and sighs.  "What is it David?" His mom asks.

"I'm just nervous for tonight" David answers truthfully. "What do you mean?". "I mean, I tried to stay strong for Liza since she was freaking out about this dinner but, dad isn't really a fan of young couples and now I have a baby-wait how did he react when you told him?" David asked.

"I uh.. well I didn't really tell him.." his mom said. "What?! You didn't tell him?!" "I'm sorry David but you know your father and I didn't want to start an argument with him" "it's not your fault mom, maybe if dad wasn't so stubborn-"

"Listen your father has just been through stuff and he's under a lot of stress lately with his job so-" "So What? Give him a break? Ma he's too controlling. I'm starting to think that inviting Liza over with him here was a bad idea".

"David, everything will be okay. Don't worry. I'm very excited to meet your baby and Liza. But I have a question" she says. David raises an eyebrow. "Is she your like.. girlfriend?" She asks and David chuckles. "No we're only good friends-best friends even. We clicked. But she doesn't like me" he answered and his mom nodded. "Got it".

Liza looked in the mirror and sighed a happy sigh. She played with the ends of her short curly hair that rested on her shoulder. She was wearing a white floral off-the-shoulder top with black jeans. She wore some nice cream colored pointed flats that added an inch to her height.

She had makeup on which was a change. Liza hasn't dressed up in what felt like forever. She dressed up Jade in a white dress with pink flowers on it. She put on some baby pink socks and a white headband that matches the dress.

Liza smiled at her baby girl and took a picture of her. Soon there was a knock at the door and Liza went to open it.

"Hey" Liza said smiling as David stared. "What? What is it? Should I change?" Liza rambled and David quickly shook his head. "No no no you look.. beautiful" he says quietly and she couldn't help but smile and blush a bit. "And, your hair.." "Do you like it?" She asked. "I love it" he answers.

"So are we ready to go?" David asks and Liza lets out a breath. "Ready as I'll ever be" she says mentally preparing herself. When all three of them are in the car Liza starts twiddling her fingers.

"Liza" David says putting his hand on her thigh as his other hand his on the steering wheel driving. "Calm down okay? Just be your charming self" He finishes and Liza gives him a slight smile.

Instead of removing his hand from on top of her thigh he kept it there-almost like it felt right.

When they arrive at his house Liza's breath hitches but calms when David rubs circles on her thigh. They get out of the car and Liza holds Jade in her arms as David helps her with some of the baby stuff.

They both walk to the door and David opens it with his keys. "We're here!" David says and Sara and Tony run towards Liza. "Awwww is this my baby niece?! Oh my god I'm an aunt!" "Does that make me an uncle?!" They say.

"Guys, lets take it one step at a time- this is Liza" "She's pretty" Sara interrupts. Liza smiles and thanks her. "She's the mother of Jade, our daughter" David explains. "You Guys made a cute baby!" Toby says and Liza giggles. "Thank you" she says again.

Toby starts talking to Liza about a video game he saw Sara play that involved a baby so he's "qualified" to babysit. When David saw that Liza was busy with Toby he pulled Sara aside. "Where's Ester?" He whispered and Sara's eyes got wide. "What? What is it?".

"Ester said that she doesn't want to meet Liza" she said and David furrowed his eyebrows. "W-what do you mean?" "I don't know-she just said that she didn't care and didn't want to meet the 'b-word' when I told her that Liza was coming" Sara said and David was fuming.

"Okay keep Liza entertained I'll be back" David say to Sara and she nods. David walks right into Esters room to find her on her phone. "Did you call Liza a bitch?" He says and she rolls her eyes. "Sara is such a snitch" she says under her breath.

"Look Liza's really anxious and I don't need you ruining anything-" "tell that to dad idiot. I'm not the problem here, it's dad. He's going to destroy Liza and honestly I don't care. I don't care about Liza or your stupid baby" "don't you dare call her that! She's my child and your niece" "I. Don't. Care!"

"Ester what's the matter with you why are you acting like this?!" "Because-" "Guys stop arguing!" Their mom interrupts.

"It's time for dinner"
