Chapter Twenty-Three
Let Me Go

Clary
Magnus had gotten me all set up in my wheel chair while thoughts of Alec filled my head and my heart fluttered faster and faster.

I've waited too long for this. Way too long.

My feelings for Alec were certain, and my love for him only grew more and more as I continued on with time.

Suddenly, as Magnus gripped the handles of the wheelchair, he said, "You know, long ago, my mother had told me was like a shout out to the void."

Flashback after flashback after flashback returned to me, and all I wanted to do was let our lips meet for the first time and we proclaimed our love to one another for the first time ever.

Then I saw who sat beside him in his hospital bed.

Golden hair, sparkling blue eyes, a handsome cleanly shaven face and muscles galore, was undoubtedly my ex boyfriend slash model of the year, Jace Herondale.

Sitting. Next. To. Alec.

My breath hitched in my throat as I saw the young model, and Jace automatically smiled and jumped up, saying in a booming voice,
