10. THINK AGAIN

I walked up to my door, not knowing who would be home, who would be asking the questions that I wouldn't feel ready to answer yet.

I'm exhausted and tired, my head might explode any second now. My mind was jumping from thought to thought. Thoughts about Diana and her lifestyle. My own damn boss wants to boss me around, how great.

The following days would not be easy, especially not with what I have planned now. Diana would surely be mad. I have no idea how to explain this to her.

If she really wants me, she can prove it.

My keys twisted in the lock and the door opened. I was met with silence and the smell of home. Silence, that is suspicious.

"Look who's home, loser!" my brother walked past me as I stepped into the hallway towards the living room. I showed him the middle finger.

"Missed you too, lazy asshole!" I replied, rolling my eyes. What a bad habit of mine.

"Enough, the both of you. Welcome back, honey! Are you tired?" my mom hugged me.

I really missed her. I hugged back, carelessly dropping my bag on the floor. I heard my brother making fake gagging noises in the background, such a loser.

"I'm really tired. I'll answer all your questions, but first I'll head to bed, okay?"

As mom was nodding I picked up the bag and headed towards my room. My face hit the mattress and exhaustion took over me. There was no time to think about anything that has happened. I only hope my mom wouldn't ask weird questions or why I'm back so early already.

I checked my phone one last time, so far no messages from Diana. Surely she is still driving, depending on where she would be going. I really missed her, what a soft ass I am.

Plugging my phone to the charger I turned around and fell asleep.

The following week turned out to be hell. My mind was a big overthinking mess. I slept a lot and avoided Diana– actually I handed in my resignation. If I take a chance on this I don't want to continue my work with her, I just couldn't.

I haven't texted her at all yet, in return I got countless of messages and calls from her. It got less with time, I guess she took the hint of leaving me to my thoughts.

Since Anna and I decided to apply for the same college after we graduated this gave us enough time to move together now. My internship would have ended before the college starts anyways.

In the meantime I started reading the contract whenever I could, but I had a thin patience for this right now. I could only imagine how frustrated Diana had to feel. I'm surprised she didn't show up at my doorstep already.

My family was furious, of course, but in the end it was my decision and they decided not to interfere too much. Still, my mom was always kind of telling me what a wasted opportunity it was.

Well, mom, if only you knew that my boss wants to raw me on any possible surface in the office I'm sure you would think different.

It was late in the afternoon today and I scrolled through all the messages Diana has sent me. My phone chimed again. It was a message from her.

'Once again thank you for the days you spent with me. Have you read the contract yet? Please think about it. I will not mention work. This is a topic for another day'

I decided to answer back.

'I have read a little. Still thinking. If you boss me around, as you like to call it, I would appreciate it not happening where we both work ;)'
