Feeling relieved and happy I walked out of the building that will be my soon to be new work place. I had a new job; that meant a new boss and new colleagues, sadly only for a certain amount of time.
I grabbed my phone from my pocket to send my mom a message with the good news. Pressing on send I smiled to myself.
Next thing I knew I was already in the main lobby of the building again; the same man I first talked to still sitting behind the counter.
"So, how did it go?" He asked with a smile on his face. "It was fantastic! I got the job!" I smiled, walking closer.
"Congrats dear. Guess we will see each other more often then." He winked.
I thanked him, said my goodbye and walked out of the building.
The sun was now shining beautifully. There were people hurrying through the streets, trying to get to their destinations. Now I had to try my luck with getting a cab.
I walked down the flat stairs and onto the pavement. You always had to be careful to not get run over by bikers.
Several yellow vehicles drove past me. I was waving and screaming for one to stop.
Luckily it was still early and not as many people were traveling per cabs."Common guys, can't just one of you make a quick stop for me already!" I yelled, starting to grow frustrated.
Suddenly my phone started ringing in my pocket. My best friend's name and face was shining brightly on the screen.
"Hey, doll!" I greeted her, swiping my thumb across the screen accepting the call.
"Hello, best friend. I was just wondering if you're out of the interview already, and if you got it." She said and laughed.
"Yes I just got out, so you're lucky. Currently trying to get a damn cab. But, oh my god, Anna, you won't believe it! I got the part! Oh god, I have so much to tell you! She was amazing!" I squealed in happiness.
"Hold on, too much information at once! I'm so proud of you! That is amazing! We need to celebrate that!" She replied, excitedly.
"Okay okay, sounds good! How about we meet tomorrow?" I asked.
"Nope, not gonna happen. I'll be at yours at eight, so you better be ready til then." She explained and I could hear her arrogant smirk through the phone.
"I hate you." I chuckled. "I love you too, sunshine. I gotta go now!"
"Alright crazy one. See you later." I hung up. Anna and I have been friends for a very long time now. Our parents are good friends and we went to high school together, well, until she graduated, of course. She knows everything there is to know about me, and I know basically everything about her.
And there was finally a cab waiting for me. I sighed and opened the door to get in. "Hi, where to?" A young man asked kindly.
I told him my destination and he started driving. Finally going home again.
And again it doomed on me what just happened. I will be working together with probably the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She's owning companies and banks, it's just insane.
