Running in the rain, nothing new for me. It was still early in the morning, grey thick clouds above my head. Running to get my head free of unnecessary thoughts, and to keep my body fit.
I ran and and ran through this beautiful big city, which was already so awake and busy in this early morning hour.
New York City, my birthplace, the place where I was always at home no matter what. I knew every corner and all the buildings.
High school came to an end; it finally meant more time for early morning activities.
But it also meant trying to find an internship and then apply for college.Looking down I saw my white running shoes, soaked with water, splashing the water away.
It was a calming noise.I always jogged through the Central Park.
On other mornings, when it wasn't raining like today, the park and its trees were glowing with the sunrise lights. The sky was painted in pink and orange.
I preferred those mornings.
Autumn was coming, some of the leaves already turned brown, red and orange. What a beautiful season.
Soon it will be too cold for me to run early.
There was still some time left until I would start my part time job today. I had enough time to make myself breakfast and taking a shower.
My mom would be awake by then too.
My mom is actually a really well known lawyer around here. I've seen her in action a couple of times and dang, she's good at it.
She absolutely hates to lose a case.
She was totally born for this job.And today before work, I finally have my first appointment for an internship interview.
I had no idea how I landed that invitation, guess having a mother like mine does have its perks. All I know is that the company was a big one, famous, known all over the world, especially America. I knew it was led by a young woman, she must be in her thirties.
I'm not sure if she will be the one interviewing me, but I hope not. This would make me pretty nervous. They probably had thousands of requests for an internship, they must have definitely chosen me because they know my mother's name.
What would I wear? A dress? Or slim jeans and a blouse? What looks best and most professional for such an interview. I guess the dress will have to assist me today.
I just recently graduated high school and turned 19. My GPA was phenomenal, others would kill for such one.
The rain slowly died down, making it easier to relax and enjoy the run. The bright morning sun was breaking through the clouds. Time to head home.
The way home wasn't far and it was easy to run. We're living in a tall apartment building mid city of Manhattan. I loved it.
You could see the Central Park from my room.
My brother still lived at home as well, while being just a few years older than me, currently going to college. Becoming a lawyer, just like my mom. My dad is a doctor. It's good to have a lawyer and a doctor in the family.
