Furious wouldn't begin to describe how Gunna was feeling at the moment. Gruff must have watched him walk the same line back and forth for an hour while incoherently cursing under his breath and checking his watch every few seconds.
Laila and Silas were on their way, but to Gunna, they weren't moving fast enough.
"Gunna," Gruff stated, attempting to bring him back down to earth. He was gone. His eyes were bloodshot and his mind was on one thing, murder.
How dare Karron speak ill of Olivia and his unborn. The same nigga he broke bread with on many occasions, slept in the same bed with as children, shit, there were even times they cried together coming up.
Gunna was more hurt than angry, but he didn't know how to properly process what he was feeling. He felt stuck. Had it been anyone else he would have gladly laid him and his entire family down, but the fact that it was Karron made this a sticky situation.
"Gruff, I'm telling you right now," Gunna spoke while punching his fist into his palm. "If anything happens to Olivia-"
"Nothing's going to happen to Liv," Silas stated limping through the back entrance. Laila was hot on his trail, concern etched across her face.
"Silas," Gunna spoke as his hands settled into a prayer position. Touching the tip of his nose with his extended fingers Gunna carefully chose his words. Before he could continue Si cut him off.
"I appreciate you stepping up, but Lai and I will take it from here," Silas spoke, eyeing Gunna sternly.
Shaking his head from left to right, Gunna spoke up, "You and Lai? Nah, fuck that!" He scowled. "You want me to just walk away like this nigga didn't threaten my family? The only fucking family I have?!"
"Donnie," Laila spoke up attempting to calm him down. "I understand your frustration, I do. Believe me when I tell you that we'll handle it from here. Go home. Liv is due any day now and I'm sure your presence is needed more there than it is here."
With squinted eyes and flared nostrils, Gunna shot daggers at Silas. He didn't want to believe that Si would go against him, but Gunna was no fool. He knew there was a huge difference between family and like family. Sadly, Gunna was the latter.
Gruff stepped up and placed his hand on Gunna's shoulder. "Come on man, I'll drive you," He stated sympathetically. Like any real man would, Gruff understood Gunna's dilemma.
"Now this one is on you," Gunna shot Lai the same words she had thrown at him when Silas was shot and headed towards the door.
He spoke his peace.
If anything happened to Olivia... The same was gonna happen to Lai and Si, and that was on his unborn.

The ride back to South Carolina was a quiet one. Gruff wanted to see where Gunna's head was at, but Gunna wanted to be left alone. Instead of talking he stared out of the window and thought of a million and one different ways to kill Karron.
"Gun," Gruff called out pulling Gunna from his murderous thoughts. Gunna looked over in his direction. "We're here," Gruff nodded towards Olivia's place.
Nodding in response Gunna dapped Gruff up and reached for the door handle. Before he could pull it open Gruff spoke up, stopping him in his tracks.
"Silas ain't no fuck nigga Gunna," Gruff assured him. "You can trust that he's going to handle shit exactly how it needs to be handled."
