finn's pov

before i know i know it, millie is running. she is running really fast. but not towards the house, in the opposite direction, towards the lake. she doesn't stop. i then lose sight of her as she disappears behind some trees. what the fuck is she doing?

although i have finally got rid of her annoying me, i can't leave her, the others would kill me. i run after her, as fast as i can. she is nowhere. it's as if she has disappeared into thin air. i keep running until i hear a noise from the distance. i run towards the noise.

"hELP" someone croaks out. it sounded like millie. i run towards the noise. but i still can't see her.
"MILLIE" i shout as loud as i can.
no reply.
"MILLIE! WHERE ARE YOU" i yell.
silence.
i start to panic.
"FINN HELP" she screams. it sounds like she has been crying.
i instantly start to run towards her voice as fast as i can. that's when i see her next to the lake. i pull out my phone to shine the torch on her. she is crying hysterically and clutching her leg as blood drips through her fingers.
"f-finn please h-help me" she cries out.

i jump straight into action by carrying her to a jetty that is behind her and pulling my hoodie off. i wrap it around her leg tightly. she cries out at the pain.

"millie, i need to carry you back to the house" i say.
she nods, still crying.
i pick her up, she is surprisingly light. i can't help but feel guilty. this is all because of me. i look down at her, she is still crying.

"i'm sorry, i shouldn't have run off i was being immature" she whispers.
i look at her tears filled eyes but i couldn't bring myself to say anything back. i wanted to say sorry too- but i couldn't.

we arrive back at the house and by this time everyone is asleep. i lay millie on the island in the middle of the kitchen and i take the hoodie off to check on the slash in her leg, it
has widened and looks serious. millie is unconscious by now.

"GUYS WAKE UP" i yell at the top of my voice.
sadie and caleb run downstairs. sadie's eyes widen as she runs up to the island.
she starts to cry.
"w-what happened to her?! we need to get her to hospital!" sadie cries out.
caleb looks shocked and then he runs upstairs to wake everyone up.

we all jump in lilia's car and i drive to hospital. sadie calls millie's mum who panics immediately. when we arrive caleb carries her in and she immediately gets rushed to a hospital room. her mum arrives and visits her immediately. when she walks out she the room she has a smile on her face.

"millie's leg has been stitched up, she will be fine, you can all go and visit her but only one at a time" she says softly. sadie immediately runs into the room to see millie. her mum turns to me and smiles.
"are you the young man that saved my daughter?" she asks. i nod my head in response.
she doesn't say anything, instead she pulls me into a hug.
"thank you" she whispers. i smile at her and sit down to wait for my turn to see millie. i felt awkward. i don't know what to say to her. we don't exactly like each other.

i was last to see her. i felt nervous as i walked into the room. she was lying there, she looked pale, lifeless almost,her eyes were closed, she must be asleep. i walk over to the bed and sit on the chair next to her. i don't say anything. i just looked at her. i studied her face, she had high cheekbones and plump lips. she is an attractive person and she doesn't even try. i sit there for 10 minutes and look at her, without saying anything.

until i am about to leave.

"i am sorry too" i whisper.
