Chapter 9. All Just A Dream.
Two days later. 7:25p.m.

Mason grabs my hand, squeezing it. "I love you." He whispers.

The minister smiles, folding his hands together. "We're all here today to celebrate the relationship of Jordyn Harper and Mason Evans, and to be witnesses and supporters of the commitment they share with one another. Together we're a group of the most important people in their lives and they've brought us here to publicly recognize that we've all played some special part in the love they share today." He turns to Mason.

Mason clears his throat. "With this ring, I give you my promise that from this day forward I will give you all my love, and you shall not walk alone. I have no greater gift to give. As your love is my anchor, and your trust is my strength, May my heart be your shelter and my arms be your home. As this ring has no end or beginning, so shall my love for you be. As I place it on your finger, I give you all that I am, and all that I shall become. I will take your love to give me hope, give me joy, and make me a better man. I will love you as long as I have breath." Joel hands him a ring, Mason turns back to me and pushes it onto my finger.

Zoey hands me Mason's ring. "You shall never walk alone, as I will always be with you - on sunny warm flecked days and in torrential rains, together we will brave anything that nature can bestow upon us. We are brave together, we are happy together, we will always be together, today and until the end of our days." As I place his ring on his finger, his smile fades. His white shirt under his jacket, soaks crimson. "Mason." I whisper. I look at everyone around us, everyone smiling brightly, like nothing wrong is happening.

" And now, by the power vested in me by the State of North Carolina, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. Family and Friends, For the first time I present to you Mr. Mason and Mrs. Jordyn Evans."

Mason falls to my feet. I bend down and hold his head in my hands. "Mason!" I cry. "Mason!"

"Jordyn wake up." Mason breathes out.

"What?"

"Wake up, Jordyn. Just wake up."

"Wake up?"

"All you have to do, is wake up."

Everything slowly blurs and fades away. My eyes flash open.

"Jordyn. You were screaming."

I rub my eyes and sit up. "I was?"

He nods. "Yes. You were screaming my name. You keep having these nightmares." He sighs, rubbing my back. "What was this one about?"

"It was our wedding day, and we were saying our vows, and you just died. I don't know how you died but you did."

He wraps his arms around me, pushing my head into his shoulder. "It's okay Jordyn. I'm right here."

Two hours later.

I type away on my old laptop, trying to finish this assignment for my writing class. I rub my temples and sip down the last of my water.

"Babe, Sophia should be here any minute." He walks up behind me and massages my shoulders.

"Are we going to have enough money for the wedding? I know neither of us wants a big wedding, and we're keeping it pretty small. But it's still going to cost so much money."
