Chapter 8. The Big Day.
Three days later, 2:15p.m.

Zoey grabs my hand and pulls me out of the building. "So as you know, I got a job at the hair salon down town a couple of weeks ago."

I nod, "Yup."

"I was able to afford to buy a jeep!" She squeals.

"Wait, but your dad bought you a car for graduation."

"Yeah he did, I still have it. But this is for Kyle. His jeep stopped working and we took it to the shop to get fix, but turns out it's cheaper to just buy him another jeep. I wasn't able to find the color he likes. It's a 2005 model, it's in great condition. I was planning on giving it to him tonight, after we go wedding dress shopping."

"Awe, thats sweet, he'll love it. The weddings in a couple of days so we need to find a dress pretty quickly."

She nods as we walk towards her car. "Yeah, hopefully this time we can actually find something. My mom's going to meet us there."

"Okay, sounds great." I go to grab the door handle but someone taps on my shoulder. I swiftly spin on my heals and turn around to find the person that tapped on me. "Oh, Hi Mr.Nicolas."

He smiles, "Hi Jordyn. I was hopping I'd catch you before you leave. I was wondering if you would be available later tonight to help me organize and grade more papers?"

"Uh, yeah, of course! What time?"

"Around five?" He suggests.

"Sure, I can be back by then."

"Okay, see you then Jordyn." He waves at me before walking back into the building.

I hop into the car and pull my seatbelt on.

"What was that about?" Zoey asks.

"Oh, Mr.Nicolas was asking for help later. I'm helping him out for extra credit."

"Extra credit."

"Why did you say it like that?" I inquire.

"Jordyn, he obviously is trying to get in your pants."

My cheeks heat up, "What!? No he's not."

She clears her throat and pops on the heat. "Come on Jordy. It's so obvious. I've seen the way he watches you when you walk by his office. Or what about earlier. When you and me went to go get lunch."

"What about it?"

"He touched your butt, on accident."

I brush my hair behind my ear, "He apologized immediately after."

"Jordyn, your too nice for your own good. You like to think the best of people, which is a good thing. But you need to be a wee bit more cautious."

Twenty minutes later.

We arrive at the small bridal shop in downtown Maplefield. I pull open the door for Zoey.

She smiles and walks through the doors. "Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Hey mom!" Zoey chirps, wrapping her arms around her mom.

"Hello my beautiful daughter." She grins. "Jordyn!" She exclaims. "Come give me a hug."

I walk up to her and give her a quick hug. "Hi Mrs. Mahr. It's so great to see you again."

"Its always a pleasure to see you as well, Jordyn. Please call me Sophia." She bends down and picks up a couple of dresses off the bench. "I found a few you might like, they're your style."
