Song: Happy ~ MARINA

Bonus PT2. To Mend A Broken Heart.
Four Months Later. 11:23p.m.

I wander down a dark, empty sidewalk. Ever since Masons' death, I just don't know what to do with myself. I feel so lost and lonely. There's not a moment that passes by that I don't think about him. I keep having nightmares, holding his cold, lifeless body in my arms, that image will never leave my mind. It will forever be embedded in my head. All he is, is a memory now.

I wipe a few stray tears from my eyes and huddle into my jacket. Kyle and Zoey try to come visit me everyday, but for some reason I push them away; it's just not the same anymore. Most days I won't answer the door, or get out of bed for that matter, unless necessary.

I run into a local office supply store and pick up a few extra moving boxes. I quickly work my way home. I pull my keys out of my pocket and unlock the front door. I lock the door behind me and wander into the kitchen and unfold the boxes.

Since Mason's passing I decided to get him a cat. Her names Gizmo, just like he wanted. She's a loving, wild little thing. Gizmo walks into the kitchen and rubs against my legs, I bend down and pick her up, giving her a few little kisses on the head. She purrs in my ear before I set her down on a chair.

I've decided it's time for a change, it's time to move on. I'm selling the house and getting a small apartment in the next town over, WindenVille. While I was still in high school Mason would take me on dates in WindenVille, so we would be less likely to get caught by someone we knew. I pull his wedding ring out of my pocket, running my finger against the black metal. I still can't believe he's gone, it feels so surreal, like a dream almost.

Pulling out leftovers from the fridge I heat them up on a plate, placing it onto the table in front of me. My stomach gurgles and aches, pleading for the food in front of me, but my mind says otherwise. I can't bring myself to eat much anymore. My stomach has a never ending ache.

Staring at the food in front of me a tear falls down my cheek. This was Masons favorite meal, he always told me he loved my food, but this was his favorite.

"Jordyn." A deep voice booms behind me. But I can't bring myself to give them even a glance.

Woods pulls the chair out beside me, taking a seat. "Hey Jordyn." Placing his hand on my knee he gives it a light squeeze. "I used my key to get in. I wanted to make sure you were okay." Rubbing his upper lip he clears his throat. "You should really eat that. If not for you then for the baby."

Nodding I pick up my fork, playing with my food. "I know... it's just hard."

"I know, it's hard on all of us."

I glance up at him, "I'm sorry, your right. You were friends with him long before I was."

He leans down, picking up Gizmo and cuddling her. "You picked the perfect cat."

"I like her a lot."

He grins, "Mason would have too." He reaches for a Muffin that I had recently baked. "I think you should go back to the bakery this week. You can't keep it closed much longer."

"I will once I have the rest of this place packed up."

Nibbling on my food I watch Woods scarf down the muffin. "You can have more." I gesture towards the basket.
