Screams, follow in my wake

"Morning!"

Caitlyn looked all around the kitchen. Vi was still sleeping. Luckily, the omelet was still warm.

"Seriously, get up or I'll come there and shove those damn gauntlets all the way up your ass! Both of them!"

A minute passed and Vi slowly walked the stairs down. She was still in her pajamas, and almost fell when she tried to sit. Caitlyn put the omelet and a large cup of coffee in front of her.

"Ooh, I love you Cait, this is exactly what I need!" she shouted and drank the coffee in two seconds. Then she started to destroy the omelet.

"Today will be an easy day. Jinx has a visitor, although I didn't see who it is. And Camille is in her Zaun apartment."

Vi took more coffee.

It's so kind she still resists the urge to shoot Jinx, just because I want her alive. I really love her.

"Don't zone out again. Easy is more than 'nonexistant'."

Caitlyn's sense of humour was kind of edgy. It balanced Vi's jokes, which usually were usually puns.

"Right. Since you took the morning patrol, I can try to collect some information about Jinx's guest."

"That's a good idea. I'll clean the bedroom and take a nap while you're out."

Vi put her thumb up. They quickly kissed and Vi left then.

One day, I'll marry her.

...

The streets were as busy as always, but no sign of Jinx could be seen. She was likely in one of her 'secret hideouts'.

When I took this job, I took it to keep order in one of Runeterra's most important places. Now, I'm stuck in friendzone with Cait and playing tag 24/7 with my former best friend. But I'm not complaining. It's tons of fun.

Vi turned her head down. She was directly over one of 'hideouts'. And she saw two figures, albeit unclearly.

The other one was definitely Jinx. Her some characteristics were so distinguishing.

But who was her guest? It seemed to be male at least. He had white mohawk and a weird... something in his back. Could it be...?

The pipe she was standing on suddenly crumbled, and Vi started to fall.

Dang it.

...

"How did he vanish?"

Warwick yawned. Ekko had woke them up a bit too early.

"Have you seen the capsule in his back? It's called Z-drive", he started to explain. "He can use it to either teleport, or travel short periods back in time."

So that was the strange feeling I felt that night. Time-traveling must react somehow with my ability. It doesn't completely remove the 'future' from my mind.

"Is that also the reason he doesn't seem to age?" Ziggs continued.

"Precisely. Anyone who travels in time does not age. Bad luck, Zilean, he got his ability when he was so old already."

Zilean was a mythical man said to be able to return to any point of his life. These alternate timelines have almost wrecked his mind.

"How long do you think it will take to gather all troops?"

"A few days", Warwick answered. "Then, we will tear Dredge apart completely."

...

Urgot sat in his usual place again. Things hadn't gone the way he had planned. But he had the ring, and almost all of the jewels. He could make the summoning himself.

"Urgot! Something bad is happening!"

It was one of his best minions.

"I sense carnage. What is happening?"

The minion panted a little and started talking: "According to H, the pipes in the lake area started to push gas upon us. Almost everyone there is dead."

The minion fell dead to the ground. H was standing behind him. "So long, Guri. I'm leaving."

Urgot didn't care about H, who fled the scene with her weird companion.

H is strong. She would endure the chaos what is coming.

Urgot made his way to the ports of the lake area and saw it was full of gray gas. Zaun Gray, to be exact.

This is Camille's work. The smell of crystals is stronger. This has not mixed with other gases.

"Close the gates!" he bellowed. "They will withstand the pressure, until it doesn't matter anymore!"

He could resist the gas with his mask, but he needed his minions a little still. Not many, however, just few.

The gates were closed quickly.

"They will break in 36 hours, Urgot! You need to be fast!"

I am.

He walked away. This would be the final killing spree.

Before the new age.
