My aunt tells me, "you kids are too young to worry about who you're going to end up with". Life is complicated and tough. "You'll face many more heartbreaks, and trust me, there will be worse ones."
Eleven years together, this couple. They were engaged to tie the knot and live the rest of their days together. Eleven years they've merrily been, eleven years did they love. A month later, she calls my aunt, saying we have to cancel the trip to Barcelona.
My aunt tells me, "my dear, love is not always enough for people, that's why there is divorce. You either work through it, or you don't." And that scares me the most, the idea that love is just sand that can trickle down the gaps of your fingertips, no matter how tightly you clench your fist, no matter how hard you try to keep holding on.
So what do you do with the uncertainty of love? It scares me.
