(Y/N) passed the spider webs that clouded the root-made-bumpy path. As the song of the crickets lead her to the Iconic lake by the name of Furuwo, the scent of the warm, rose, melting chocolate of a one eyed ghoul approached ever so softly.

It didn't take long until (Y/N) could differentiate the deep sapient of the trees with the creamy white of the bandages wrapped around the smirking ghoul's legs that swung upon it. 

Eto looked down at her, before plopping off the tree, dusting herself off. 

"Good evening~" she sang. (Y/N) looked deep into her mask's sockets ". . .Good night" she said back reluctantly. "I see Ayato fulfilled his mission without minor setback~ Quite impressive, considering he was dealing with you~"

"Why him?"

Eto spun around childishly- no. . .psychopathically. . .she faced the lake, before approaching it and picking up a rock "You know (Y/N), now that I come to think of it, I do remember you~" she said. (Y/N) had all her senses at their maximum. "All those years back, when you were just a little child, you and Ayato both" she skipped the stone upon the lake "It was a quite some time ago, if I remember correctly. You still had your natural hair color back then, of course, and Ayato still had the tad of humanity left in him. Oh, how you two were inseparable~ you two and his sister, if I'm not to mistaken. Like swans showing off their feathers you three beamed with personality. . .such a shame it always comes to an end. . ."

"Everything had an end" (Y/N) said narrowly "Both the brightest rainbows and the darkest storms, good or bad, it's all temporary"

"hmm~ You've become very humble and wise. The exact epitome of what Ayato didn't. Quite unimaginable considering you two were the spitting image of each other in your earlier childhood. Fight buddies to the end~ You never gave each other a break. But then it started to become real-"

(Y/N)'s eye flickered with moonlight

". . .you started to feel for each other" Eto giggled "You know, I wondered where you'd gone~ Ayato didn't say a word. . .until now, that is" she threw another skipping stone "I think you hold the last tad of his sanity (Y/N). If you were to die, god knows the power that'd come raging from the bluenettes. . .both of them" 

She turned to (Y/N) "And yet here you are, sent to riot against him"

(Y/N) tilted her head in agreement "And there he is, betraying his word" 

Eto swung happily side to side "And there you two are, nothing in the eyes of eternity, yet still fighting for your beliefs instead of warming close to each other"

"Well it's ironic now that it's coming from you" (Y/N) said, seating herself on a nearby rock "Don't you kill pointlessly for a living? -for a cause that barely exists?"

Eto laughed "Vaguely put. But that's the pleasure in it. Doing something pointless in a time that's irrelevant and screwing with minds you don't care for. But still so many of us decide to be moral, to care for lives of strangers- to have empathy. God must've programmed us terribly wrong"

"God makes no mistakes" (Y/N) said even blunter, as if it was the most obvious thing ever to be told. -who knew, perhaps it was. But just beyond the reach of many who asked about the nature of the world.

This made Eto raise her grin in sudden momentum "That depends on whom god is to you" 

(Y/N) scoffed "Certainly not you, that's for sure"

Eto let out a playful chuckle "We'll see. . .but for now, it seems you need backup, Black Assassin" she said, making (Y/N) furrow a brow wondrously "You have a mission. You will be our guest, as I've said, and then we'll see just how long you can fight Ayato before giving up. . .or succeeding"

(Y/N) rolled her eyes up to the ghoul "And you can ensure no word of it and the night gate will pass?"

"You have my word" she said bowing, before slowly disappearing into the trees "Oh, and one more thing (Y/N)" she said in a chilly whisper "When we said our Head quarters in the 11th were temporary, we meant it. Luckily for you, you won't be needing to make the journey anymore- for you see. . .

It's the 20th ward we're now moving into~"
