(Y/N) had stuck the paper crane carrying the message from Eto in her school uniform's pocket, the bell to Anteiku ringing softly as she stepped back into the warm hearted café.
She furrowed her brows
Tsukyama was sitting casually on one of the sofa chairs with his leg over the other, a whimpering and shaking Kaneki captured under his arm as he laughed, sipping on the shot black coffee Touka had served him.
"Ah, (Y/N)!~ How nice of you to join us again! How did it go?" He asked, looking at her in melancholy "I believe you and your visitor haven't seen each other for quite some time- you also left on bad terms,- I do hope every thing went well?. . ."
(Y/N), again, held to herself, and showed no emotion what-so-ever. "I didn't even know the pedestrian- looking for St.Kell's Bakery or something. Looked an aweful lot like your brother though" (Y/N) said, noticing Touka's suspicion "But he was human and had strabismus. It wasn't Ayato- but I see what how you'd mix it up"
Tsukyama frowned "Are you certain?" he asked, pushing her. (Y/N) crunched her face at him "Does Ayato have strabismus?"
". . .No"
"Is Ayato a human?"
". . .No"
"Then it wasn't Ayato"
Touka sighed heavily, pulling Kaneki from Tsukyama's side, throwing him away by his collar. (Y/N) did the favor of catching him before he almost broke his spine on one of the bar stools. "Alright, visit's over- you've annoyed us enough, and now if you don't mind, (Y/N) and I have a school to attend" She pushed him out, ignoring his protests and locking the door.
"Well. . .this is a strange morning" she said, tossing over (Y/N) backpack. "Indeed" (Y/N) said, eyeing the beating door "Out the window?"
"Agreed" Touka said, as the two bid farewell to the staff, hopping out the easy exit and dashing to school. While they ran, Touka gave a stern click of her tongue "Tsh, to think my brother would come all the way to the 20th ward- what was I thinking" she mumbled, concern over her face. (Y/N) tilted her head, offering Touka a coffee toffee "Mm" she sounded briefly. Touka turned to her "(Y/N). . .if he ever does come back- for you, tell me, please. He's an Idiot, a complete pile of ghoul garbage. He will hurt you. He'll toy with you. He's trouble and stress you don't deserve"
"Aro Tou, you know I hate teenage relationships- such a waste of time and useless drama"
"I know (Y/N)- but- you're already so low. . .- I- I just don't want you to drop any deeper. . ." she said, a tear surfacing.
(Y/N)'s eyes almost popped in widening.
It wasn't the first time it'd happened.
Back during her three year A-1 Masters curriculum in France, she'd hired two maids to take care of the household since she barely had any time. This resulted in many clothes sweaty and dirt covered laying on the ground, and extra work for them. (Y/N) made sure to pay them well for their troubles, as well as sympathizing and trying to connect to them with her at that time still broken french and Portuguese. And yet, after the three years had passed, and she was out to go back to Aokigahara Head Quarters in Japan to rejoin her full standard and above training terms, they stood at the door, shaking.
(Y/N) remembered hugging them goodbye, thanking them for what they'd done and wishing them good luck- the normal adequacies, and feeling them not let go. She was confused, until she felt the unusual shaking flow through their entire body- especially their chests, and occasional sobs and whimpers coming from them.
It broke (Y/N)'s heart. Ever since she left, she didn't miss the hell-hold one small bit. But those two maids, who cried for her departure, left a scar in her memory and soul for eternity. It was a small gesture of companionship, and yet, so simply to show the sadness in one's leaving, struck (Y/N) dumbfounded.
They washed the dishes, cooked, took care of her laundry, so why, why did they cry? What had (Y/N) done so special, to make them care?
It didn't make any sense.
"Tou. . .you worry about me a lot" (Y/N) said, trying to further investigate in the tone.
"Well. . .it's just. . .you're loyal. Your down to earth. You care for more than just money and materials. You have morals. Do you know how hard it is to find someone like that in this modern day society? You're nothing close to special, and don't care about being so, which makes you the rarest, and most valuable friend you could wish for" Touka said, sniffing away the tears upon her puffed cheeks "And you're suffering. You're suffering and don't want to be helped. And that hurts, (Y/N). You think nobody could care for you, nobody could love you, they all have better things to do- their own lives to lead. It makes me angry- just the thought of my stupid brother coming back, hurting you even more- driving you to the edge-" she coughed up.
(Y/N) was froze. "Aish, Tou, you're going to give me a headache" she said, not processing everything "Ayato is Ayato. I don't give two horseshoes if he's around me or not. He's a bag of meat with no screws holding up his brains. He can't hurt me if I already expect worse" she said, sucking carefree on her toffee "Forget him, his phycology gives me headaches as well" (Y/N) shooed the air.
Touka gave a weak laugh, pulling back up her strong face and posture. "Well then, memory wiped"
They slowed down, arriving in front of the school.
"GO AWAY!!"
A small girl yelled with fisted hands. "What's going on there?" Touka asked. (Y/N) had already analyzed the situation and come up with every possible scenario from there on out that came to her mind.
It was Yoriko- surrounded by boys from their class. The ring leader was Heiro Iko- the boy that had moved a table for (Y/N) by Professor Tomenhara's orders on her first day.
(Y/N) almost yelled her grumble.
This morning was really full of the drama she hated and avoided so dearly.
What on earth were those no-brained Imbeciles up to with Yoriko anyways?. . .
