chapter 4: heavy eyes

i had no service throughout my entire road trip so i couldn't publish anything eheh, but here's this..!

Julian smiled, "Ok then, I'll leave you to get changed." He said as he disappeared once again into the other room. DingDong watched Julian leave and began taking off the damp spacesuit to get changed into the fresh clothes Julian had given him, he took about 2 minutes to change and decided to look around since Julian hadn't knocked or came back into the room yet. Julian's kitchen was neat and pretty clean but with a few things out of place here and there, cause' hey, not everyone's a perfectionist.

DingDong sat at one of the stools by the table in the kitchen, Julian still wasn't back but DingDong didn't want to bother him so he stayed put. He noticed a small black thing that appeared to be moving across the table, since DingDong was pretty bored he decided to look closer at it. It was an ant. DingDong had always loved bugs, he slowly and gently moved his hand in front of the ant so that it would crawl onto it. He turned his hand around following the bug as it crawled around his hand and fingers.

DingDong was in his own little world and didn't hear Julian come in. Julian scanned the room for DingDong until he spotted him at the kitchen table watching his hand closely. Julian approached him and looked over his shoulder, "Whatcha got there?" DingDong jumped almost falling out of his chair but managed to hold on to table, the ant crawled off his hand. "Oh! God, Julian, you scared me.." Julian wheezed at his reaction making DingDong crack a small smile. Julian began speaking again, "So, is there anything you wanna do today?" he waited while DingDong thought. After a few seconds he spoke, "I really don't mind." leaving Julian to break the ice. Julian glanced at the window to see rain pattering against it, "Well we can't really do anything outside.. Oh I got it! Do you like movies?" DingDong sat up, "Yeah, I do actually!"

Julian smiled and turned to the couch and TV and began asking DingDong what kind of movies he liked, reading out titles of all sorts of movies. They chose to watch a sci-fi movie since they both liked that genre. DingDong slid off the stool and walked over to the couch, sinking slightly into the back of it as he laid back. Julian pushed the disc into the DVD player and flopped onto the couch next to DD. About half way through the movie Julian was struggling to keep his eyes open since he hadn't slept well the night before, he tried but failed to stay awake, his head tilting slightly and eventually resting on DingDong's shoulder. DingDong himself was quite sleepy too so he didn't react too much to Julian's actions, instead he laid his head on Julian's and closed his eyes.
