Julian and DD had been playing video games for a couple hours after that, playfully pushing each other when the other one won, joking around throughout the gameplay and making fun of the plot line. The evening was now crawling toward them. As the sun lowered in the sky, a dark red and orange faded into the sky, some pink and grey where the clouds were here and there. The sun was at the point in the sky where it was reflecting on the TV screen, Julian and DingDong were struggling to see and play the game. "Want me to close the curtains?" Julian asked looking at DingDong who was squinting to see the screen. He huffed and turned to Julian, "Nah, I think I'm gamed out." Julian smiled slightly, "What've you got in mind then?"

DingDong went silent for a moment in thought before speaking once more, "It's really pretty outside," Julian got an idea of what DingDong was thinking, he looked hopefully up at him, "Go on." DD smiled, "I saw some books in your closet, know what they were about?" Julian's smile grew, "Stars." DingDong laughed at the fact Julian looked like a child at that moment, "Wanna go?" Of course, he happily accepted. Julian, obviously, lead the way to the roof of the apartment complex, trying not to be seen, which was pretty easy since people were inside having dinner.

When they got to the roof of the building they both sat out of breath, laughing at each other. The sun was now almost fully hidden behind the other distant buildings, they watched as lights began to switch on at every window. Shadows in all sorts of shapes started crawling up the tall and short structures, stars appeared in random places in the sky, creating a calm, dim lighting. DingDong turned his gaze to Julian for a moment, Julian looked amazed, the stars created a twinkling reflection in his eyes. DD blushed and looked away, his hands laying awkwardly in his lap. Julian was so cute to DingDong, how he was so hopeful and kind all the time, his smile, his laugh, just him.
He was perfect.

Julian thought he saw DingDong looking at him for a second, but he didn't want to make anything awkward so he just brushed it off and thought of it as his eyes playing tricks on him. A few moments later Julian looked over at DD but made sure it was discreet that he was doing so. He must've been too obvious. Their eyes met, but only for a split second. Julian went red in the face, he kept having this weird feeling when he was around DD. He wanted to try something. Julian hesitantly brushed one of his fingers on one of DingDong's, who now had his hand next to him. Julian glanced upwards to see DD's reaction. He was blushing, a lot. DD kept his eyes in front of him but eventually allowed Julian to intertwine their hands.
This felt right. It felt right to both of them. Julian had butterflies in his stomach, he felt like he was on cloud 9. They felt like they were on cloud 9.
