As the last comments are made about the match, I yawn, stretching my arms slightly. Everyone, well except Midoriya, got through unscathed. When I saw the all-too-sweet greenhead get injured by the Hedgehog, I knew that I'd have to confront him at some point and ask about his Quirk and why he didn't use it multiple times. It does seem like it hurts him a whole lot, but I'll have to make sure if my predictions were correct (it being that maybe the Quirk needs more strength than he now has or that he can't control it properly. Hell, maybe even both!). I feel mentally exhausted from the battle, and I let out a mouthful of air once All Might concludes the whole thing.
When we walk away from the training arena, I keep my mouth shut as Mina just babbles on and on and on. It's kind of nice to have someone so open and...
I don't know, maybe the best description to use would be a goofball.I snicker lightly at the thought, the girls' locker room filling with chatter and praises as soon as we set our feet inside. I tune everything pointless out as I try to arrange my frantic thoughts.
I don't know why, but as soon as the match up was done, I just felt... weird? I felt like something was going to go wrong... But everything went smoothly except for Midoriya getting hurt and it confuses me as to why my mind is on alert.'It must be from my lack of sleep' I conclude, but I know that it's not it. 'Maybe if I pretend that everything is fine, it will go away?' I sigh, exiting the changing room with my hero costume.
I run my hand on the stiff yet soft fabrics, closing my eyes just for a second. I feel a memory popping up in my head, but I can't recall it clearly.
I felt something under my fingers before I got hoisted up to someone's shoulders. I heard the person's raspy laughter, and I somehow realise its my dad from ten, almost eleven years ago. I try to make out any details of him, but the more I concentrate the more blurry it becomes.I open my eyes, and like a flash, the memory snippet disappears. I furrow my brows, the only distinct thing left is the raspy, deep laughter of my dad that mocks my mind. I let out a frustrated sigh.
Seeing as I was distracted by my thoughts, I run into someone. I look up a little bit, and I see Todoroki looking at me with a passive glance. I tilt my head as he just mutters an insincere sorry and goes off.
I brush off the situation as I break into a run for the classroom, seeing as I still had to return my suit. When I set foot into the classroom, I feel Aizawa's burning gaze on me. It seems that no one else is in the classroom excluding me, and I quickly figure out that he wanted to talk to me."I heard from the principal that your Quirk is... bothersome to say the least with its drawbacks" He says, heavily implying that he was observing my battle. I scratch my hand slightly with anxiousness.
"You handled the situation surprisingly well I must say... but you still didn't take your limits into consideration well enough" He continues, his eyes unblinking as he bores into my being. I'm the first one to break eye contact, since I always feel really awkward whenever it happens.
"I'm sorry.... but at the same time I'm really not" I start, just voicing out my thought process. He waits not-so-patiently for me to collect my thoughts before I finally speak up again.
"I don't know how that came to be... you know, that whole iron will and concentration I somehow displayed during the match which led to me taking a gamble at the propability of success" I continue shakily.
"But just... Ugh, I don't know! I just felt like it wouldn't go so well if I just did everything according to the plan Rikido and Koji had come up with. It just felt like... it wasn't going to work as well as I would've liked to. And I just unconsciously took the lead and somehow it worked, and with a really risky and haphazardous plan that is" I say, drawing in a deep breath as I bow slightly.
"I don't usually go head-first into situations like that without making a detailed plan first, and so.... I'm sorry for the possible worry that I might've caused on anyone with my reckless and foolish actions!!" I whisper-shout, squeezing my eyes shut.
A little while passes.
I hear a scruff and dry chuckle that brings me up from my bow.
Aizawa chuckled.
The look in his eyes was passive, but his lips are stretched into a slightly terrifying looking smile.
"I wouldn't call them foolish, but reckless, yeah. You took the matter into your own hands when your intuition said it wouldn't work. We will never know what might've happened if you didn't take charge but at least you didn't die. You know, some would even call that intuition or reading the situation or whatever..."
He says, walking past me as if he just didn't compliment me.I blink a couple of times before I finally place the suit onto Aizawa's desk and mechanically walk out of the door and the school, finally ending the schoolday full to the brim with confusion with a pinch of ultra-exhaustion.
Hi, Smirk here.
So, I am so sorry for taking long to update the book but everything has been weighing my mind for a long time, and I felt like I was obligated to publish something and I think it shows...
And couple it in with the fact that I've been busy with my parents' divorce and moving out, and you get an exhausting Christmas that felt really forced and threats from your dad that he will shoot all the animals in the household and then himself. So that's fun
But no worries, dad has medication now and he spent a week and a half at the hospital where the doctors monitored him and the police took away the guns from my dad's office momentarily.
But anyway, I hope this filler chappie didn't make you completely disappointed!
