I let out a puff of air I was holding in, my eyes following everything that moves. You might call me a worrywart, but I just want to be sure no one's following me or anything (and the nagging feeling in my stomach doesn't seem to help).

I'm close to the park the note mentioned now, and I can see a figure with plain clothes standing under a large oak tree. Their face is covered, though...
I shrug the confusion off, chalking it up to just being a precaution.

I reach the nearby bench when the figure, who seems to be an older man, notices me. He nods lightly and then approaches me, and I hold out the bag plus the paper he apparently sent. He eyes them, smiles, and then hands me a second letter. I raise my eyebrow at this, but cautiously open the envelope anyway.

'Ah, so we finally meet.
As I stated before, your father knew he needed to keep you safe, and I was his best bet. His powers were attractive to the wrong kind of crowd, thus making you an active target in your later years.
I cannot talk right here and now since I know someone has already set their sights on you.
Please follow my instructions so we can converse freely without being found out.
I understand I seem suspicious, but trust me for the sake of your father'

The next paragraph details the aforementioned "way to talk", but nothing about it makes sense in the slightest. But as the man hands me the heavy metal ball mentioned in it, I let out a silent sigh.

'I guess this is happening, then'

I look at the brass colored ball in my hands, inspecting it with fascination. Could this really do something? I twist the ball twice diagonally like instructed before pressing the engravings on the bottom and top of the ball simultaneously. Suddenly an electrical shock or what atleast feels like one goes through me, and my vision blurs for a moment.

But as soon as the feeling came, it disappears. As I lift my eyes to look around me, I notice that the surroundings around us changed.

The leaf-filled backdrop of the park had changed into a small room with no windows. Three of the four walls are occupied by giant bookcases filled to the brim from top to bottom, and a messy mahogany table sits in the corner with stacks of papers and various trinkets laid on top. There are also papers taped on the wall next to the table, seemingly containing all kinds of foreign symbols, graphs and news articles.

I stare around in both confusion and astonishment, and the man behind me chuckles heartily.

"Like father like child, huh? Your father reacted similarly when I showed him this place. Although, it wasn't as homely back then" He explains as I turn to him. He pulls back the facemask and shades covering his face, and I'm surprised by the feeling of seeing his face somewhere. His presence felt like the familiar prickly chill of Finland, or like the smell of fresh cinnamon cookies left to cool that mom used to make, and the gentle tilt of his lips looked eerily similar to what I barely remember my father's must've looked like.

"Ah, do sit down on the other side of the table if you please, I prepared some light snacks to eat while we converse" He muses, taking the seat behind the large workdesk and pushing some neatly made sandwiches towards me. I sit down onto the chair he motioned to, looking at the various options of flavours available.

"That has tomato, cheese, ham and egg, those ones have cucumber, cheese and turkey, and these are vegetarian and thus have cucumber, vegetarian cheese and salad in them. Take your pick" He says, pointing out the different flavors. I pick the most appealing one, and taste it.
