"Absolutely not!" I say sternly as I continue to wash the dishes.

"Come one Layla! I thought you guys are on good terms now!" Sarah said and blocked my path to the dish washer.

"We are but we haven't talked in a month! Besides I have work!" I walk around Sarah and place a dish in my dishwasher. Jackie sighed and jumped up to sit on my counter.

"We already called and got the week off for you." I sighed and continued to work. "Please! The guys have a break from their classes and they invited us on their camping trip! And Sarah has been dying to get closer to Mark!" Jackie said and I heard a slap of a magazine. "Ow!"

"Oh please! You're dying to close the gap between you and Jeremy! Yeah, that's right! All those times you tell me you're going to the store I know you're meeting with him for a date!" I turned towards them curious to hear this play out.

"Shut up Sarah!" Jackie said as she slid back on to the ground.

"Fine," They turned their head to me and stared me down like a hawk. "I'll go." Sarah screamed out happily and both Jackie and I had to quickly cover our ears before we got pulverized by her screech.

The two girls stayed at my apartment that night so we would all be together when the guys come over in the morning. Jackie and Sarah fell asleep on the couch and I started to clean up so the apartment was clean when I got back from the trip. I pack my things and I pull all our bags into to the living room. Once I had done that I went to the bathroom and undo my hair from my braids. I remove the soft makeup I had on and put my pajamas on. I curl up in bed and go to sleep.

AHHHHH – BEEP! BEEP!

I wake up from the sound of my own scream and my alarm clock combined. I rub my face and grabbed my glasses from the table next to my bed.

BEEP! BEEP!

I reach over and irritably turned off my alarm. I got out of bed and started to get ready for the guys to come over. I put some jeans on and a blue t-shirt I also made sure to grab my jacket. I started to pull my hair into a braid and I stopped and looked at myself. Something in my mind told me and do something else with my hair. I undo what I had done and pulled my hair up into a bun I push my glasses back on to my face and sigh.  I was waiting for my coffee when I heard a knock on my door. I go to the door and let the guys in. I gestured for them to be quiet since the girls were still asleep. I started to help with the bags but Alton stopped me.

"Go wake up the other two. We can take your bags to the car." He whispered. I nodded and made my way over to the two girls.

"Sarah, time to get up." I said sweetly. She groaned as she rolled off the couch and onto the carpet. I turned to Jackie and started to rub her back.

"Jackie, you too." She didn't move. She was completely out. I walk to my kitchen and grab two cups of coffee for both Jackie and Sarah. I hand the first cup to Sarah who was walking around sluggishly and then moved over to Jackie. I watched as the smell woke her up. She stood up tired and grabbed the cup.

Once I had sent her and Sarah to get ready I turned to see Alton leaning against the door frame. I walk over to him slowly and awkwardly.

"Do you want something before we leave?" Alton shakes his head and smiled to me.

"Do you have everything you need?" He asked but I nodded my head and patted the bag I had on my arm to show I was all good.  We had an awkward silence before Jeremy walked over to us.

"We're loading up. I figured you'd want to pick your spots in the truck." We both nodded and walked out to the car. Jeremy's truck has five seats and the front middle conical lifts up for a sixth seat. I had picked a widow seat in the back and Alton took the front seat. When the girls came out I saw how each looked so tired. I thought about it for a while and made a decision.
