I woke up in a hospital and a bright light was shined into my eyes. I must have blanked after the accident. I moved the blaring light out of my way and looked over to see that no one was in the room. I heard voices from the door and I curiously tried to look out into the hall. I tried sitting up with a pain burning through my arms and my right leg. I looked down and saw my ankle and knee were wrapped tightly and my left arm was in a cast with the other arm was also wrapped tightly.
"Oh," I heard a nurse say as she walked in. "You're awake! That's good. You're friends were really worried about you." She said with a warm smile. I nodded and lifted my less injured hand to my forehead. "You must have really banged your arm good to get it in this condition."
"I was blocking my head." I said and the memory of falling both times flashed threw my mind. She smiled to me.
"That's good! Better your arm then your head in this case. We wouldn't want you to have a repeat of last time." She said as she waved around a file in her hand which I could only assume was my records.
"Um, I'm sorry but I have one question." I asked and she smiled.
"Ask me anything you want."
"When I was falling I got back these memories that I thought were gone." She nodded and smiled.
"Often times memories will do that when the adrenalin kicks in. Like how people say their lives flashed before their eyes." I nodded as that made sense to me. She continued to talk to me and I heard yelling coming from down the hall of an all too familiar voice.
"You guys called me and you won't even let me see her! I'm her older brother I don't care what this hospital says!" I heard Weston scream out angrily.
"Sir, you can't be back there at the moment!" A nurse screamed out and then I saw Weston standing in the door frame.
"Layla!" He screamed as he came in.
"Sir, you can't be here." My nurse said but he ignored her.
"Do you know who I am?" He yelled at me and the nurse watched intrigued to see if I would respond.
"I fell down some stairs Weston I didn't go deaf." I said and he sighed.
"You're okay! When I got the call I freaked out and drove like a bat out of hell!" He ran his fingers through his red hair and his face showed relief.
"Sir, you have to leave." An officer said and Weston looked insulted.
"You can see her soon I promise I just need to finish up a few things and then everyone can come see her." The nurse said and Weston let out a sigh of defeat and left. "That's a good brother you got there." I smiled and let out a breath.
"Yeah, he has his moments."
The nurse finished up and then sent everyone in. The first face I saw was Weston as he raced back in. Then I saw Jackie and Sarah with the two guys. They bombardier me with questions and then I looked to the door and saw Alton with such a worried expression.
"Layla," I heard Weston say with a strong voice. "Why aren't mom and dad here? And why haven't they at least called?"
"I may or may not have told the hospital not to call my parents in the case of an emergency and that they shouldn't inform them at all and instead they should call you." Weston looked at me dumbfounded.
"You took them off your emergency number list!"
"Well, when you say it like that..."
"Layla!"
"You have to understand! I don't need mom here pestering me over every injury I have! I'm perfectly fine!" Weston and the girls all looked dumbfounded and screeched at me.
