Nowhere Boys (Felix Ferne fanfiction)

Chapter 1

Molly’s P.O.V

“MOLLY GET UP YOU’RE GONNA BE LATE FOR YOUR EXCURSION” mum screamed from the kitchen.

“Okay mum, I’ll be down soon” I groaned and rolled over.

I got up outta bed and slowly walked to my closet and pulled out my outfit I organised the night before, I wore my floral top with blue jeans a brown cardigan and boots, oh and not to mention my cute little French hat my dad bought me the other day. I was zipping up my boots when I heard loud music, who honestly starts playing heavy metal music at this time of day!? You would think they’d have some brains to at least turn it down a notch. God I have the weirdest neighbours.

I walked out of my room and grabbed my floral backpack from the couch and walked out the door without even saying bye to mum. You see, my mum and I don’t get along that much, I was always close to my dad but dads in New York at the moment for his job and I’m missing him like crazy.

I put my headphones in and started walking down the street to school. I only walked about 2 metres when I saw Felix Ferne. He’s my next door neighbour and the guy I’ve been crushing on for nearly a year now! None of my friends know, if they ever found out my social status would go down! It’s not that Felix is a nerd or anything, he’s a goth. A very hot one I must admit, anyways my best friend Mia hates him.. she pretty much thinks he’s some sort of vampire or something by the way he dresses. But I think it’s really cool that he’s different and doesn’t live up to other people’s expectations.

After like 5 minutes of me just staring at him I started making my way to Bremin High, I don’t wanna miss this excursion!

*At school*

I saw Mia and she waved at me and I ran over and hugged her “omg what took so long!” she asked “sorry, mum didn’t wake me up this morning so I was rushing” I lied. She seemed to believe it. Then she ran off to her boyfriend Sam, great, just great. Sam’s a nice guy but he’s a bit of an airhead and doesn’t treat Mia right, he probably doesn’t even remember that it’s their anniversary today! He’s too busy caring about himself.

“Everyone hand me your permission forms and get on the bus please” Mr Bates says, I hand him the form and jump on the bus and sit next to Tammy, one of my other friends. “Omg I hope we’re in the same group together! I don’t wanna be with any of the other losers on this bus” she said, “yeah, me neither” I said looking at my phone. “Okay listen up! Welcome to the year 10 science excursion which is quite literally a walk in the park, the Bremin ranges national park. In groups of 5, you will orienteer a 7 kilometre walk to a pick-up point marked on your map. You are expected to identify flora and with any luck fauna. Now in the interest of breaking down social barriers and as a little treat from me, I have pre-selected the groups so don’t expect to be with any of your friends” Mr Bates said which made us all groan. I didn’t mind it as much as the others did because I got along with most of the people on the bus.

*Bremin ranges*

“Okay year 10’s form groups as I call out your names, Danny, Mike, Lexis, Tammy, Sarah.” I waved goodbye to Tammy. I really hope I’m with Mia! “Next group, Mia, Trent, Dylan, Ellen and Becca” well looks like I’m not with Mia, so that leaves just Jake, Sam, Andy and Felix. Wait what!! Felix omg I’m in a group with Felix, great just great! Not one single girl either, and to make it worse I’m with a guy I’ve had a crush on for like ever! And he probably doesn’t even like me, I’m not his type whatsoever, he’s a goth and I’m a full on girly girl. And in the words of Mia, I’d be more suited for Jake!

“Join your group please Ellen” Mr Bates called. I turned my head and saw a very angry Ellen walking over to Mia, I didn’t know Ellen very well but she scares the heck out of a lot of people, and I’m pretty sure Felix is going out with her, they’re that close!

“So that leaves Jake, Andy, Sam, Felix and Molly. Meet back here at 4pm. Don’t forget to identify flora and fauna. Good luck” Mr Bates calls as we all walk into the bush.
