Chapter 3

Molly’s P.O.V.

I walked home and knocked on the door, “MUM!” I yelled. The door opened and an old lady came out “sorry miss how can I help you?” she asked me. “Um I’m looking for my mum. She lives here” I said. “I’m sorry deary but this is my house, always has been. Are you sure you got the right house?” she asked me. “Umm yeah I think so, sorry for interrupting” I said and ran off. What just happened?! I swear to god this is my house. But where’s my mum? My dog? My sister? What’s going on!! I took my phone out, that’s funny.. all my contacts have been deleted! But I still have Sam’s number so I decided to call it and he picked up “Mia! I’ve missed you so much, why are you calling me off Molly’s phone?” he asked. This boy is so dumb. “it’s me Sam. Molly. Something’s going on, my mum’s not in my house, there’s someone else living here and she says she owns the house and I don’t have contacts on my phone except you!” I said hyperventilating. “Whoaaa calm down. Meet me at the skate park. Something’s happened to me too!” he said. I hung up and ran down to the skate park.

*at skate park*

I sat on the bench waiting for Sam when I saw Mia walking with Ellen.. that’s not right! Mia hates Ellen, and I’m pretty sure Ellen hates Mia. Okay this is even weirder. “Hey Mia!” I yelled and ran up to her. “Umm do I know you?” Mia asked. “Obviously its me, Molly, you're best friend. Omg I have to tell you all about the bush walk” I said. “I’ve never seen you before. I think you’ve got me mixed up with someone else” she said awkwardly and walked off with Ellen. I could just hear Ellen say “two idiots in one day? It must be the Bremin moron convention.” Two idiots? What did she mean by TWO idiots?

 Sam ran up to me “hey Molly!”

“Sam omg I’m so glad you’re here! Have you talked to Mia at all?” I asked.

“Yes, I tried to but she didn’t even know who I was and she’s hanging out with Ellen. Goth Ellen! Except she’s not a goth anymore!” he said.

“Omg yes I saw that! I tried to talk to Mia but she acted like she’d never even seen me before and Ellen actually looks like she’s human!” I replied.

“Yeah, wait till Felix notices! He’s gonna flip shits. He’s lost his goth girl” Sam laughed.

“Sam, you’ve lost your girl too” I rolled my eyes and he looked pretty shattered. Maybe he did have some feelings after all.

“C’mon, we should go find the others. Maybe the same things have happened to them too” I said and he agreed and we walked up to the shops and found Andy talking to Jake.

“Guys!” we yelled and ran up to the others. “Has anything weird happened to you since yous came back or is it just us?” I asked.

“Well when I came home I thought I’d get into so much trouble for not coming home last night. I didn’t notice anything when I first walked in but when I went into my room everything was changed. It was purple and black and all gothic. And my sister went all psycho and started calling my nai-nai and they chased me with a butchers knife. It’s like they didn’t remember who I was” Andy said. Sam and I told them about what happened to us with our families and Mia and Ellen.

“I’m sorry to break up this little tea party but none of this is helping me find my mum” he said and got on the tiny bike that was way too small for him.

“And what makes you think she’s gonna remember you Jake? If all our friends and family can’t remember us what makes you think your mum will? We need to find Felix. If the same thing’s happened to him then we’ll at least know that this has only affected us” andy said.

“Okay fine, we’ll go find Felix, but after that I’m finding my mum” Jake said sternly.

“Anyone know where he lives?” Andy asked.

“He’s my neighbour so yeah, I do” I said and the boys followed me to Felix’s.

We walked up and saw Felix with his little brother Oscar playing a game of chess. “Well it looks like he’s back to his cosy home” Jake said. We got closer to his house and went to talk to Felix. 

 "So you got home safely?” I asked.

“Yep” he replied

“Anything strange happen?” I asked. Oscar came in with some drinks. We all stood there shocked. We all knew about Oscar’s accident.

“How is he walking? He’s not supposed to” Jake said

“Oh wow, now my brain really hurts” Sam said rubbing his head.

Felix’s mum came out and asked if he wanted to stay for tea.. stay for tea? Huh? “Felix why did your mum just ask you to stay for tea? Don’t you live here?” I asked curiously.

“Well yes but my family can’t remember me. But my brother can walk.” He replied. “Now if you excuse me, I’m going to finish my chess game with Oscar. Leave me be” he snarled. Oh wow he really knows how to be scary when he wants to be. Jake already left to find his mum and Andy and Sam left with him but I stayed behind. I couldn’t leave Felix. Where was he gonna go after tea? He can’t stay by himself.

“Sorry Felix but mum’s gotten a hayfever and we cant do dinner after all” Oscar said.

“Okay well how about one more game?” Felix asked hopefully.

“I’m sorry but I should be getting back, so much homework. But I guess I’ll see you around” he said.

Felix got his bag and started walking down the lane, I was about to go up to him when he sees Ellen. “Ellen!” he yells out “what are you wearing? Going undercover as boring now are you?”

“Umm who are you?” she asked

“Sorry you looked like a friend” he said looking at the ground. Wow he really does love her, I don’t think I’d ever have a chance even if Ellen never existed.

“Well I’m not” she replied and walked off, leaving a distressed looking Felix.

I walked up to him and put my hand on his shoulder “don’t worry, I know the feeling. But we’re in the same boat” I said with a small smile.

He looked up at me “you waited for me?” he asked shocked.

“Yes obviously. I didn’t want to leave you behind so I offered to wait for you” I laughed.

He smiled for a second and quickly said “come on lets go find the others."
