It was more then a little embarrassing having help getting dressed for night class but my limbs still in their sluggish state and my airway feeling like it's contracting at every movement I made I gratefully took Mellow help.
"Do you eat breakfast or stuff?" I question nonchalantly as I preparing my bag. It doesn't seem like she needs to eat if she stayed here for who knows how long without in this vampire mansion.
"I do not require physical food, I obtain my nutrients through my master acknowledgement" I raise an eyebrow at her words, it sounds closer to fiction than truth but so does the rest of this new life. Humming a vague reply I grab the packet of sphere medicine from Mellow small doll hands invonterilay cursing out loud at the sight.
"Crap"
"What's the matter?" Mellow asks in concern tilting her head. I sigh pulling open the plastic food bag looking at the contents.
"I'm nearly out" I mumble staring at the four spheres in my hand "And to make it worse it's an odd number"
Mellow tilts her head not understanding "You still have enough for today correct? Plus four is an even number Master"
"My dosage has recently gone up to three spheres, so in medical dosage requirements having four is an odd number, I'll have one left over" I hiss lightly pulling my fist into a ball hoping to even the number of medicine in my hand.
"That medicine it contains holy elements no?" I jolt a bit under Mellow question.
"Yes it does.... it was crafted by the vampire hunters of the church" I answer truthfully, after a moment of hesitation. Mellow tilts her small head in thinking position staring at me at the all to familiar eyes if mine.
"There is no need for a human to consume holy elements" Mellow stops there not prying any further then needs be. Letting out a sigh I comb my hair back with my fingers suddenly remembering that I have to look presentable. Now thinking about it I'm sure night classes is just a pain.
Huffing to myself trying to comb out any bed hairs my face sullen at my thoughts Mellow speaks to me.
"Master if you will allow me I can tend to your hair" Pulling my hand out of my hair I nod silently at her offer her body morphing to human size. A comb appearing from thin air that I don't have time to question as the chair moves of it's own accord in front of me.
"Please take a seat" Taking a look of precaution before sitting down her hand gently lifts my air over my shoulders. Silently combing my care with at most care her finger tips brushing through my dark locks creasing out any loose hairs.
"Your good at this" I compliment quietly.
"My previous master had long hair" She murmurs still brushing my locks smoothly. "Master let me say this, while I will not pry a human taking holy elements is unheard of. As I'm your servant who's been contracted to serve you I fully aware of your body condition and will act under my own authority if you are in harms way"
Finishing up combing my hair Mellow produces a mirror allowing me to check myself in what felt the longest time. My skin more pale then usual all the blood drained from that it probably surpassed the vampires.Even my crystal sapphire seem drawn of any life of them that I have to question if there ever was a flame of life burning in them once. Everything that reflects in the glass seems gone and wash out and nothing left but a pitiful girl taking heavy dosage of medicine.
Shaking my head gently trying to remove any thoughts, but Mellow and Reiji words echo in my brain on repeat. It hurts, not a physical pain but the brimming guilt that oozing from the depths of my chest. I said I wouldn't but as soon as thinks get tough I turned and went against he's words. I'm so pathetic.
"I'll be leaving now, I don;t have any orders for you just please don't touch my medicine" I ask, bows her head bringing her hands together.
"Of course not. I will be waiting for your return" The words though they shouldn't hit a soft nerve of my heart. Waiting. Someone will be waiting for me to come back, shaking my head I briskly walk out of the room softly shutting the door behind me.
"Mallow wait for me got it?"
Waiting. Waiting is such a lonely word. So why did it make me happy that she said that? Even though she has no connection to me what so ever or that she doing this out of principle? Why are her words bring tears to my eyes?
Taking in a deep breath calming my watering eyes. I don't cry. I can't cry. I monster can never shed tears. Thinking at this I stare at pass the glass windows vaguely remembering that I didn't come to see the view when I woke up. Regaining myself I push my feet forward walking down the hallway, at each step my destination seems to slip further away. My feet pacing a little faster I take a sift turn at the corner smacking straight into something..or someone.
"Oi watch where your going?" Staggering back a bit to see the Subaru glaring at me.
"I was. It's just near impossible to know what you'll encounter at the sharp corners" I reply coldly.
Glaring at me for another minute "Tsk" He walks straight pass me walking, without thinking I garb onto the hem of his blazer.
"What are you doing?" He growls through his teeth reminding me something of the wild wolves that lived in the forest by the church.
"You've been put in responsibility of me right?" His eyes twitch in annoyance "Well then you should take me to the entrance" I reason hopefully.
"Huh? Why should I do that?"
"I just told you why" I reply now starting to get aggravating, if I don't make it back on time that Reiji vampire will definitely call me out. While the bite didn't necessarily hurt that much his violent means in getting it left me a bruised head and a small headache churning and dealing with him again is unnecessary pain. Refusing to let go as he tries to pry my hand out of his grip with his thrashing
"OI LET GO!" Yanking his hand back in one foul sweep hitting my body in the process, my falls open into a silent scream as my body flies back into that sharp corner.
Subaru Pov
Subaru eyes widen as he watches Mallow body sweep back at the sudden thrash of his arm. Unable to guard her back Mallow eyes shut in preparation of the incoming pain. The window rattles against it's frame the force so strong the corners of the glass begin to crack, the next moment slam echos as it burst open wind slicing through.
A light shimmers brightly causing Subaru to taking a few steps back.
"What the-" His words fall short at the scene. Standing there Mallow draped in traditional Japanese clothing her arms gently holding up another Mallow the one that was meant to hit the corner. The one that was pestering asleep in the arms of herself. Gathering his thought quickly
"Who the hell are you?" He shouts at the new impostor in Japaneses clothing. The woman not even glancing at Subaru gently cups Mallow face checking for any injuries smiling gentle when finding none.
"I asked you a question" Subaru growls taking a step forward. Mellow finally taking notice of Subaru she lets go of Mallow allowing her body to float in mid air. Giving an appropriate she speaks
"Subaru the sixth blood son of the vampire king" Subaru scowls at her in confusion raising his fist as a threat.
"And who the hell are you?"
"I've been given the name Mellow by my master by you more commonly know me as the Ifrit of the abandon room" She introduces herself.
