I'll Be(Luke Brooks)

Chapter 4

-LUKE-

Fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK! Why did I kiss her? Well, I like her, that's why kissed her. She kissed back too, and I ran away like a little pussy. What was there to be afraid of, if she kissed me back? What if she only felt bad for me? She's also my best friend's little sister! She's also, Leilani Sahyounie, the gorgeous girl, that was always nice, but had that troublemaker vibe. There couldn't be any chance she liked me back, she probably only thought of me of her brother's best friend. If Skip found out, I kissed his little sister, I'm dead for sure. I wonder if she felt the surge of electricity when we kissed or it was just me? I felt eyes stare at me, as I 'focused' on my work, they're Leilani's no doubt. I couldn't look up, her eyes would make me trapped in her gaze. Maybe, I'll text her later?

-LEILANI-

The librarian said we were all free, and I was going to try to ask Luke what happened, but he was one of the first people out. I sighed, and grabbed my phone. Luke left me in questions the whole evening, and quite frankly it was starting piss me off. 

I walked home, hoping I would find Luke trailing in front of me, he  must of took the bus home. I took off my jumper since it was blazing hot out.  I made it home to see Daniel playing video games. "I'm home," I tried hiding how upset I was, but it failed. My mum was sitting in a chair reading the paper.

"How was school?" she looked at me with a stern look.

"Horrible," I muttered, knowing she learned about my 'tutoring' club.

"Leilani Rose Sahyounie, you knew the rules. Lesson work first and then anything else! You are two weeks behind! TWO WEEKS!" my mum raised her voice. I winced. "I am very disappointed in you Leilani Rose. You are grounded for two weeks! No phone, no laptop, no going out!" my mum declared.

"Mum what if I needed my laptop for school work?" I retorted.

"You will use the family computer!" she stated. "Now hand over the phone." I rolled my eyes, and gave her my phone. As i gave it to her the screen flashed and said I had a message from, Luke. She turned my phone off, and I sighed. "Your dinner's in the microwave."

I grimaced, "I'm not very hungry, just going to go up to my room." I started to walk to my room.

"Bring you laptop out!" I clenched my jaw, and grabbed my laptop, and came out and set on the coffee table. I walked back to my room and shut the door, locking it. What to do? Guess, I should start all that work that I owe.

To: Lani <3; Hey

I waited five minutes she usually answered me by then.

To; Lani <3; Ur probably really confused about earlier?

Still no answer; she hates me.  I gave up.

-LEILANI-

"GET UPPPP!!!!" a voice shouted. I groaned, and pulled a pillow over my head. Someone ripped the blanket off of me. I shot up,  and saw Daniel in his work out clothes. "Get ready for school, we're leaving in five minutes." he stated.

I looked at the clock, and it said, "7:00 AM", "Why am I waking up with you?" I asked, my voice hoarse.

"Mum wants to make sure you don't wake up a late, so wake up my little sister. Again, we leave in 5 minutes!" he said walking out.

Not even enough time to put my makeup on or do my hair! I threw on my uniform, and quickly brushed my hair, and threw some eyeliner on. I shoved all my homework, and work into my bag. I walked out seeing Skip making a two bagels.

"Wow, I wasn't even sure you would be faster than five minutes." Skip said with a mocking tone. I grimaced at him, as he hand me a bagel. I nodded in thanks, as he grabbed his bag, and we walked outside. It was cool out, and the sun was starting to rise. 

We walked to the gym, and Daniel set his bags down. I sat down in a chair, and saw a couple of other people in there. I was so tired!  "Don't you have work to do?" Daniel shouted from the punching bags.

I growled mentally, and got out some work. I  started to work on it, I felt my eyelids start to droop, and I didn't fight it. 

"Yo! Sleeping Beauty! Wake up slut!" A voice shouted in my ear. I shot up, and saw Jai laughing. I flipped him off.

I collected my stuff, and shived it in my bag, "I hate you." I grumbled. He grinned, and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "So what are you doing here?" I asked sleepily. I scanned the room  and saw Luke staring at me, he was standing next Beau, who was talking to Daniel. I caught his gaze, and he quickly looked away. I sighed.

"Beau's giving you and Daniel a ride," Jai said, "hey, why didn't you return any of my texts last night?" he asked.

"Grounded, fucking sucks." I took another glance at Luke, but turned my attention to Jai, before he noticed.

Jai nodded, "Hey Skip, you should hit the showers now, we have thirty minutes!" Jai shouted, and Daniel nodded. "Oh, by the way how was that tutoring thing?" he asked, as we walked up to Beau, and Luke.

Should I tell Jai? Nooo, no, no, that would be awkward. "Oh, boring, like I think I would of found stabbing a pencil in my eyeball more amusing." I lied.

"Well, someone should learn how to do their work, and turn it in time." Beau smirked, as he took a sip of his coffee.

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever Mum." I stole a drink of his coffee.

He snatched it back, and huffed, "I swear you have more sass than Luke." Luke punched him in the shoulder.

"Shut up!" Luke and I both said at the same time. We looked at each other, and I quickly looked down and blushed. A few minutes later, Daniel came out in his school uniform. 

"Ready?" Beau asked. Daniel nodded. "Does James need picked up?" 

"Nope, he said he's already at school." Jai looked down at his phone.

"Over achiever," Luke mumbled.

Beau gasped, "He spoke more than one word, ever since we walked in, you've been quiet!"

We got into Beau's car, and I had to sit in the middle. As I was buckling in my seat belt, my hand touched Luke's. I quickly ignored the butterflies, and put my hands in my lap. 

I really need to talk to him about last night. I'll ask him about it when we get to school. When we got to school, we waved goodbye to Beau. Daniel, and Jai walked to a couple friends of theirs. Luke was about to too. I took a breath.

"Luke!" I called out. I ran up to him, and he turned around, and bit his lip.

"Yeah?" he asked.

"I wanted to talk about last night." I said.

"Oh, um, haha." he laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. He then looked over his shoulder, "How about we talk about this later, Tyla needs some help. See ya Leilani!" He ran off to his group of friends, which included Tyla. Who, I may add, looked like he needed no help.

I couldn't explain how I felt. I just stormed past them, inside to my locker, where Mikki was waiting there with a scowl on her face.
