Sprinting into the woods, I do not look back. The house I called home disappeared, engulfed by the pine. The thick abyss was sliced with a faint glow, illuminating the blackened air like stars in the sky.

Fireflies, I thought. This is the place I live in, a place for an eased mind. Taking in a deep breath, I tread deeper.

It was almost winter. Soon the wind would contain snow. For now it was fall. The fact that everything was beautiful, but dying confused me sometimes. The crunching of the leaves grew silent from the thumping of my own heartbeat within my ears.

A clearing came into view. A willow was in the center alone, majestic and deadly at the same time. I shuddered, noticing the pines bowing by the wind towards the willow.

This has to be it. The JubJub tree. It's arching branches fell to the ground, resembling lifeless broken arms.

Remember what to do, I thought to myself. Before I could put one more foot down a gigantic bird swooped down and fell before me. The feathers were a shade of dark purple, lighter by the moonlight. Gracefully, it craned it's neck.

"How dareth you walk among these sacred grounds?," it said, moving closer.
